S55 vs E55

as "E55Greasemonkey" stated, I think If E55 using the same S55 2.82 diff. & wheels with tires,
that may gives more fair to comparing isn't....??
ZAYED,,
Not trying to start anything but hmm.... Stock E times vs modded S times.
If need be I'm sure I could go find the ET's for Car and Driver and Motor Trend, although they don't matter much. Love the S55, heck of a car!

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

Its ample body stretches 203 inches and weighs in at 4,300 pounds. Sporty cues are discrete, adding even more presence to its tall roof line and long, sloping hood. The rear fascia boasts four polished stainless steel exhaust pipes below the signature AMG badging. Pretty? Sure. But this is a case of love at first drive. And the S55’s 5.4 liter, supercharged, single overhead cam V8 throws out an awesome 493 horsepower and 516 pound feet of torque. The S55 made serious tracks taking the 0 to 60 in 5.1 seconds and running the quarter mile in 13.5 seconds at 107 mph
But 4300lbs? Thats what my E55 weighs with driver and 1/2 tank of gas?
Motorweek on E55:
Not that the 2004 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG isn’t fast. In fact it’s the most powerful E- Class sedan that Mercedes has ever built! In the E55, AMG’s 5.4-liter Kompressor V8 engine roars out 469 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque And allows the E55 AMG to vault to 60 in , are you ready for this? , 4.4 seconds. The 1/4 mile rips by in only 12.7 seconds at 114 miles-per-hour. That’s just a hair slower than a Porsche 911 Turbo, and real pin-you-to-the-seat acceleration. But it’s also smooth as silk, with a turbine-like drive from idle to redline. A testament to the remarkable skills of AMG.

Interesting though, they claim more HP on the S55 and SL55 but same torque?

I said it clearly earlier and this states it even better. No one is trying to knock your car. We are only saying what the facts are in write ups on both car. Every test couldn't be wrong! I always thought that the E55 was the fastest of the 8 cyl AMG cars from the factory...not the S.
...but whatever, if you beat all the E55's when you were stock too, then you have the fastest stock S55 in history.

We can just agree to disagree and let it go at that...

E55 the highest I found was 4.4 sec 0-60 and found as low as 12.4 sec 1/4 mile times! Most were around 12.8 but a far cry from 13.40's that the S claims!
Most E class and S class cars are stock so yours having a pulley and tune is adding what? 60rwhp or so...that's enough! Run a pulley and tune E55 and see how that goes. I don't know where you are located but there are a few of those examples here in NY that love to run all the time. I am sure that you can find a guy from this forum where ever you live. I am sure that we would all love to see the results...it's interesting and cool to see a pulley, tuned S class!
