What type of dynamometers is the best, where to buy, prices, what options to consider, requirements...

I prefer the Mustang dyno`s if you plan to tune a lot but for just general testing, making dyno pull $$ and general tuning, then dynojet`s work well. Of course they both will argue that each of thier design`s is better for tuning.

Dynojet also has 4wd and load bearing dynomometers. They are the standard for dynos. The Mustang is also a very good unit. Both are great for measuring increases or decreases in performance from modifications.
