Just wanted to see what some of you have to say and how many miles are you putting on them before needing new sets... i know the rears we go through quicker but just looking to hear if anyone actually counts how many miles they've done prior to changing them etc... just wana different opinions

thx and have a good weekend

Going on my 3rd set of Michelin super sports. Each set last 9-10,000 miles.

Funny you should ask, I was going to start a similar thread. Got the '06 last April. had 37k mi on car, no idea how long the contiprocontact all season had been on (apparently only V rated, so couldn't have been originals, what was stock?) I've put 10k on 'em since...prob need new set by this summer/fall.

Any recommendations on tires? Thinking about the Goodyear Eagle All season F1's? Can get a set stock size for around ~$750

Not at all Especially if you're modified not to mention the weight and camber of the car. Being u are lowered might wear a little faster. I never do burn outs either just hard driving and the tread where's perfectly even.

10K on my Hankook V12s before needing replacement. Great tires dry or wet. Car really keeps its composure even with all the mods. I beat the hell out of my car every day pretty much. Lots of hard turns on twisty roads and I spin them often.

I'm about half way through my second set and have only had the car for 9k Haha. I guess I like to do a lot of burnouts.

I drive 100 miles a day so I went through 5 sets (different brand every time) in 2 years. I got about 9-10k each. It was getting expensive, so I bought camber bolts and built a wooden jig to measure my own alignment. I reduced my toe in to 10 thousandths per wheel, bought conti DWS for quiet tread pattern and high wear rating. I got 26k out of them before I parked it for the winter and there is still tread left. Thinking about Michelins this spring because they are great on my ml320, but the conti's are so quiet I'm on the fence about it.

OTHER ALTERNATIVE TO CONSTANT PREMATURE TIRE REPLACEMENT IS TO FIX IT RIGHT ONCE AND FOR ALL WITH K-MAC

*Free Fedex delivery (USA/Canada) until 31st March 2014 (PayPal, Visa, MasterCard)

Ex-factory there is only front and rear Toe adjustment for virtually all Mercedes 1968 to current models (and same with Chrysler Crossfire and 300C etc).

We saw the need for owners to be able to return vehicle to factory specs and were the very first company to manufacture precisely adjustable front Camber and Caster bushing kits with twice the adjustment range of the basic one setting offset bolts.

Then for the rear, K-MAC Camber adjuster kits, which have the advantage (unlike upper adjustable arms/DIY kits) of not moving the top of the tire outwards when adjusting to resolve premature inner edge wear - which is an important factor to prevent tires scuffing outer fenders if wide profile tires/rims fitted.

Another advantage with K-MAC rear kits (unlike spherical bearings used in these upper arm kits that prematurely pound out resulting in harsh metal to metal contact) - there's 20 years of proven design and certainly no squeaks.

Also all K-MAC rear Camber adjusters include extra Toe adjustment which is essential to compensate accurately for the new Camber facility! These specially designed Toe bushes also eliminate the unwanted flex of the soft composition and air voids of the OEM bushes further improving handling responsiveness when cornering or lane changing.

The K-MAC patented design front kits replace the 4 main suspension bushes - the unique 2 axis/self aligning design also doubles the load bearing area thereby increasing wear life and also steering and braking response.

Similar design is used for the 4 main rear K-MAC bushings.

Result is precise single wrench front and rear (ongoing) adjustment to importantly return vehicle to factory specs to improve traction, compensate for steering pull, costly inner edge tire wear through altering height, fitting wide profile, load carrying, curb-knock damage and/or the advantage of being able to alter specs, improve lap times on track days and with genuine K-MAC you also do not need to purchase special fitting tools.

Product confidence with K-MAC is further assured by our total, ongoing commitment to motor racing - all out 10/10th competition testing keeps K-MAC products always at the forefront re cutting edge technology, proven strength and durability.

Seriously ? Do you rotate them (dismount and swap sides etc) ? Maybe I need an alignment Mine all wore out on the inner side. The outer tire was still pretty good on all of them. Just got new ones a few weeks ago and would like them to last even 15K miles.

Yeah I'm serious, it's not quite 20k it's more like 17k but still, that's also with doing quite a bit toying around when I first bought the car which is when I bought the tires. I didnt rotate them, did you use the star system to lower ur car? I have the Renntech v3 ELM which I'm sure has saved me some tire wear considering it brings the car to stock height at 65mph.

^^ u have an N/A E63, that explains why your tires last longer. the E63 N/A makes no where near the TQ of a E55 that is modded. also the super sport tire is a very soft rubber compound that really lays the rubber down to the road wearing the tire faster but with the warranty the tires come with its a win win

My V12's are toast in about 10k. Not sure how FromM3toAMG is getting so much mileage, but I have gone through 4 sets of rears and they are all bald around 10k. My fronts are pretty well toasted at about 20k, but I could probably get a bit more. So I just change my fronts every other rear change.

Had 6000 on a set of Pilot Super Sports and they looked good except for the very inner edge had wires coming out completely ruining the tires. Tread was fine all the way across the tire but that inner 1" of the tire from the car being lowered. Sucks when they cost $700 (285/25-20).

I got 13k on my Continental Extreme Contact DW's with my E55 that was lowered with 562rwhp. I barely get 7.5k with my C63, it makes a huge difference being able to stuff a bigger tire in the rear of the E55 vs the tiny rears of the C63

I personally got 16k out of my last set of V12's, and I'm pretty aggressive too! I was considering the PS2 since most here run them, but after how good these tires perform Im not sure the switch is going to happen. The cost per tire is bit less too from the PS2 or now PSS. Check online sometimes there's a good deal out there for all 4 shipped.
