seaarching and reading all the topics I can since bought my 03 e55 and now ant to start some upgrades.
first of all,
want to lower iat so ordered new bosch ic pump, but as I read it would be better with heat exchanger? which one should I buy? where to buy? will it fit directly instead of the original ic? or is it an extra unit to install?
other que, scoops? where to buy which to buy?
not possible to call a place, I should order, but ı dont know which one to order?
and last question for now
think that need a new torque converter, instead of that, is it ok to buy 3000 Stall Converter ?
The new "010" style Bosch IC pump is a great start.
A lot of guys will use a larger H/E (Heat exchanger) to keep the intake air cooler, but other guys will do the "split cooling" mod (separates the H/E cooling circuit from the engine coolant) which is also said to help a lot. With split cooling, I think it is probably less important to replace the H/E since it is not dealing with as much heat..... The new H/Es replace the factory one, and are quite a bit larger. Some of them don't fit all that well and require modifications to the areas inside the bumper, and some hang down a bit lower than the original as well... you'll have to get some more opinions on which brand is best.
Contact Eurocharged for the larger HE, most modded cars here in the UK have the EC one fitted with no problems. The oil cooler needs remounting under it and some of the plastic surround to the oil cooler needs to be removed to allow enough clearance. No bumper mods required. I had the Bosch '10' ic pump fitted after my original one failed and so far so good.
Can't go wrong with the Bosch 010 pump - bolts right in, cheap and easy to buy and easy to install. It took me less than an hour with basic tools - there are some great write ups with step by step pictures under the DIY section of this forum. I also have an '03 E55 and my original pump could not keep up - since I have installed the Bosch I have not had 'shut down' once, even after 6-8 hard runs. I would not bother with a bigger HE unless you plan on running a bigger crank pulley. On my standard pulley my IAT's are between 50-60 degrees after multiple runs. Sorry, I can't help on the converter question.
Here I am with new problems new problem is about very weak throttle response! and a engine fault lamp as well. its like driving 20hp car. and when I use elm327, saw that these 2 codes appearing.
