Sold the unicorn wagon :mercy:
To all my wagon lovers, I come here with a heavy heart to announce that I sold my wagon to BimmerDawg yesterday.
We have known each other for over a decade and share very similar tastes in the love of white cars, suspension mods, and keeping it clean and classy.
I had no intention of selling the wagon, but BimmerDawg's wife (who is the ultimate car gal who tracked her E36 M3 race car frequently at Road Atlanta) needed a bigger vehicle for family duties. The search for an R63 proved unsuccessful and the AMG wagon search didn't prove fruitful either.
After numerous conversations and the exchange of documentation, service history, etc. we finally met for a test drive and conversation. Needless to say, they loved the wagon and are happy to be a part of the AMG family.
If you are in the Alpharetta area of GA and need tires or wheels, I strongly encourage you to visit BimmerDawg at Butler Tire. He (and his wife) are true car people that will bend over backwards to accommodate your needs at an excellent price.
You may ask, what is going to happen to the registry or posting of cars for sale in the future?
I will continue to do this as I am still a huge fan of AMG wagons and preserving the history and documentation of these cars. If someone wants to step up to the plate and take over, that is an option too.
You may ask, what are you buying next? Hint, it is another wagon...... but you will find out next week in a later post

Still have mine!
It's going under the knife for motor mounts and a leaky differential pumpkin soon.
We recently added a 2014 Toyota Rav4 EV for commuting and saving on gas and AMG running cost...

E55 Wagon | C126 | S210
Thanks for the kind words, Bart! So far Anna and I have absolutely LOVED this thing and, with all of the mods/maintenance already performed, all I have to do is wheels! I'm looking forward to hanging out around here and learning the marque, as I think I can't learn any more about BMW.
Can't wait to meet the new beast tomorrow!!!
Oh yeah, have to post a pic of course!

Good guess G Money.
Yes, it is true. I did purchase a V Wagon. When Geordie inquired about my E55, this white 6spd CTSV wagon with black interior came up for sale and I knew it was meant to be.
It is a 2011 with 25k miles, a black interior with the optional Recaros, and this car also had the sunroof delete option.
I picked it up on TX on Saturday and drove for 12hrs straight to Atlanta, so I had some good seat time to compare it to the E55. This car is really just a 5dr ZR1 with a nice interior and the 6spd manual really makes it fun to drive (really my only gripe against the E55).
It is not quite as raw or brutal as the E55 in the power delivery department, but very quick in a refined manner. Maybe it hides speed a bit better than the E55
The suspension and electronics (NAV, stereo, etc) in the CTSV are superior to the E55 when it comes to road feel, but I guess that is the case when comparing any air suspension vs. standard suspension car. I will miss having the lowering module and the ability to pick any ride height for my given situation.
It seems like the E55 wagon has more cargo carrying ability compared to the CTSV (or at least it seems this way visually)
I will still have AMG close to my heart and will likely end up with a bi-turbo E63S wagon someday, but for right now the 6spd CTS-V wagon is a good change of pace.
Also, it is good to know my E55 wagon will be in great hands and continue to receive the love and attention to detail that I gave to it over the years. Geordie is not a traditional wheel guy, so it will be interesting to see what wheels (and I am sure there will be multiple sets) the car will flaunt during his ownership.
Now, on to the CTSV mod bug

Cool new car. If anything, it is even more unusual than the AMG wagon. How were the Recaro seats on the long drive? I've heard mixed things about their overall comfort levels.
My mom drives a pedestrian model CTS wagon. It is much smaller than the w211 in terms of carrying capacity.

Not to sound ignorant but "Sun roof delete option " I assume it's only good for weight saving purposes right ? (track, drag) or are there any other
benefits too ?
and doesn't CTS-V have similar suspension as Audi something called - magnetised or hydraulics ? I forgot , so please correct me if I'm wrong ?

2006 E55
Texas Direct Auto. I know them well. If you were able to stick around town there is a pretty large Houston group. We had a get together this past Saturday you could have joined in on (I wasn't able to make it).
Looks like it already has the larger HE on it. So you are already off to a good start on mods.

Thanks
They are fun cars, the manual makes it even more fun
GM did a pretty good job on this car, I am impressed with the overall package
You know me well, can never leave a car alone.
I will give it a shot, will see how the schedule pans out
Definitely on the list
This one is giving me some ideas. Love the sound of a nice cam
I was expecting the Recaros to be horrible after reading all the posts on various forums, but I was in them for 12 hours straight over 850 miles. They really were pretty comfortable. Are they standard cushy caddy seats, no, but this is a performance model!
--No plans to sell it anytime soon, but then again I was not planning to sell the E55 either. Will let you know down the road.
Weight savings, chassis stiffness, and good for people who need headroom due to height or for a helmet.
Yes, you are thinking of the MagneRide suspension. It is awesome so far.
--I would have loved to meet some of the locals, but I had a 12 hour trip ahead of me. Yes, it has a Fluidyne HE on it already.
