Big crank pulley and long tube header guys are barely getting close to the 600 range - some even have bigger TBs to crack the 600 mark.

I don't think anyone is doubting you, or attacking you personally.

We are doubting the operator of the dyno and whether he knew what he was doing when dynoing. The type of dyno and gear you dyno in is a HUGE factor as well. A lean mixture will absolutely spike that torque much more so than what it really is.

As long as you're happy, that's all that matters! Just gotta make sure things aren't skewed

Exactly. I'm just trying to wrap my head around the data that was posted.....

No headers, no cooling..... just an S/C pulley and tune for 618TQ? It just stretches the limits of reason.

As mentioned, there are only a handful of guys pushing over 600TQ, and they are running enormous crank pulleys (and loads of other mods) to do it.... and those guys are also somewhere north of 540WHP too. That's what seems so odd about your final numbers.... the peak HP should be a lot higher for the kind of torque that is being claimed. That's why I was wondering about being in a lower gear. 4th is 1:1, but 3rd is 1.41:1 you get quite a bit of extra torque multiplication from the lower gear which is what motivated me to ask the question....

E55
On a mustang because it's true load bearing the pull should be done in 3rd gear, dynojet should be done in 4th, now dyno in 4th on a mustang can get higher skewed numbers because boost will be higher but still those numbers are off

Lol instead of wondering why don't we wait till I run it at the track? Maybe get some numbers that either confirm the dyno or let us know it's false?

why does it take a week to tune such a simple setup?

Well it probably doesn't... But I just couldn't find a ride to pick it up, having said that, the pulley didn't go on till this past Wednesday. But I know he tuned it, modified the air box, re tuned it, modified the intake gutter, tuned it again.

yah 600+ in tq with just what you added seems kind of impossible. Some guys here have everything plus crank pullies and dont have that kind of tq

after your all set and done at that shop take it to a different dyno and see

one car at a time
Sounds interesting...As others have stated something seems off : (1) dyno numbers especially high given the mods, (2) tuner selling you mods that are not applicable to the 55K motor (RoW airbox is an e63 mod), (3) rain gutter removal 5 - 7 hp ??? ....Regardless enjoy your car and congrats.

Lol he didnt "sell" it to me, he actually sold me no parts. he tuned, modified the airbox, tuned, installed the pulley I sourced from Shardul, tuned some more.

I'm really less worried about the number, and more interested in what I have and how it performs. Maybe Greg, Demon, AKnight, Skratch and I can all go out to the drag strip one night and see how each of our cars does? I'm no expert but even if I suck, I still believe you will see a trap speed that can translate into what the car can do? And believe me, I KNOW Im gonna botch it

NED isn't all that close for me, but I'd be interested to make the trip out to make a few passes...

Currently running nothing more than a set of MBH longtubes & an EC box tune. It will be good to get a baseline run or two on that setup, before adding the 172 pulley & Kleemann tune this spring.

I believe you're right about the MPH at the track. Even if you blow the launch, the 60' and the RT..... The MPH should still tell you a lot about the power you are making.

E55 AMG
PLEASE don't take this the wrong way...

I'm in CT and was just inclined to look into Bren tuning, they're close to me and I wanted to do a dyno pull to see what i'm putting down since I had a Eurocharged tune.

After a little research I found some info on the audi forums and google that Bren Tuning collaborates with OE Tuning for their tunes.

Do you guys think OE Tuning sends Bren tuning a tune and maybe they tweak it a little???

That's pretty interesting, what made you go with the long tubes an tune vs pulley and tune first?

Just the way it worked out, I guess...

A couple years ago MBH ran a group buy on their headers, so I ended up getting those a long time ago. I did all my research and knew the parts list I wanted, so over time I've been slowly acquiring the pieces.... Shardul just hooked me up with a custom 172mm crank pulley. That plus a quality tune puts me at 500WHP, which has always been my goal. Pretty conservative for an E55 by today's standards.

PLM H/E is the final item to buy.... Then I need to get a huge pile of parts installed.
