Why is the steering feel so light?

I can't figure out why MB has so much power assit and light steering feel on such a powerfull sporty car, coming from an M5 you really notice this. Any way to adjust this? or After market mod?
What do you guys think of steering feel?

lower the airmatic to the lowest possible and the camber become negative so the steering become heavy. also center gravity is lower and handling is better. am I rite?

Slightly underdriving the PS would make the wheel more driver-oriented.

change the PS pulley to bigger one, evosport has pulley kit for $500 not only 13RWHP gain but also make steering feel heavy too (ben correct me)

Using an underdrive power steering pulley (i.e. one with a larger diameter) will slow down the speed of the power steering pump and thus the level of power assist to the steering. It will require more effort to turn the steering wheel and give more "feedback."

For that matter, switching the front tires to 265/35/18's will make the steering feel less light, and diminish understeer as well.

Yes, the steering will be heavier with wider front tires, but it will also be more "twitchy" and require more user-input to drive at higher speeds.

I like your idea about the underdrive pulley though.
