possible solution

My light was on my sl also. I connected it to the star das. it stated that it didn't recognize steering angle. the solution? turn the wheel from lock to lock. It worked for me. good luck.

I had this issue with my 07 E350, next day went away, and was gone for three months. then came back on for two hours. Season weather change did it every time. Codes in comp showed low voltage, or irreg voltage. Hot texas sun and cold likely had battery a little low, and the front batt was original. Could be setting it off.

07' SL65, 04' E55, 03' Evo8, 08' GSXR, DSM's...
Just for future reference, I had to change out my clock spring when mine was doing this. Same symptoms, it would go away sometimes and was not predictable when it would come on although it was frequently. Changed that and the steering angle sensor while in there and hasn't been back since. Good luck.
