low end grunt gone?

so - with kleemans should it feel less 'oomph' off the line?

my wife thinks the car has less power initially, i'm starting to think the same...

for everyday street use- light to light race , I've heard it's better to have little less off the line

oomph. I bet she'll still light up the tires if you step on it with traction off so we can do okay

with little less off the line lol .

That's my opinion.

Still waiting on the sound clips bro

I honestly haven't had a chance to really romp on it yet, too much day to day work junk and a 4 mile commute just doesn't cut it

yah, I need to get a recording... it's a little more noticeable, but nothing crazy (which I like to be honest) -still keeps the sleeper look around town, but it hoots pretty good when you get on it

with headers i gained torque and snap down low. You could data log that rpm and timing where you feel its lazy and prob get timing added there.

I'll have to try that out, kinda disappointed in the initial tip-in... Too rainy today to have any fun LOL

DYNO day is pending for NorCal in a few months too...

I have the same mods as you and my dyno sheet shows a substantial jump in torque down low.

Go get some miles under your belt. The mind is a powerful thing...

Did you not get an updated tune after the headers?

yup, it's a box tune - so can probably modify a bit more if we have the dyno-day in May

Is the rest of your exhaust stock? If so, you still should have quite a bit of restriction/backpressure and with a good tune, you should see GAINS down low, not losses.

Now, if your entire exhaust is open and free flowing, I can definitely see your butt dyno showing a loss down low, but even then, the mid-range and upper gains are substantial in comparison, maybe that's why it's so noticeable.

I say open her up when the weather clears and maybe make sure your tune map is smooth and proper.

Removed the resonator a while ago but the stock mufflers are intact and 2ndary cats as well...

You do loose some torque at part-throttle tip-in, without the blower clutch engaged (when it's running naturally aspirated). This of course won't show on the dyno, because you're WOT. A good tuner can add spark...plus you'll eventually get use to it.

yup, good points and makes sense - maybe a road-tune is needed

it would be ... if you keep second cat n res.. it only gets loud at wot. plus you can easily sell your stock exhaust to the 500 guys..

From my experience, anytime you add headers or free up the exhaust (bigger exhaust tube, bigger primaries, etc), you will lose a little bit of low end torque. As much power as these cars make down low, I would be happy for that exchange.

that's a good idea, it's been a while since I reset that...

I did get a WOT run last night in 1st gear and it hit the rev-limiter - talk about a big jolt back!

I thought my TCU mod would help remove that issue...
