Also I searched first then asked in the threads with the most info to keep it all together for other new owners like you so you keep it all together. Not make new threads.
Also the ones giving you **** are prob the ones that searched and learned and likely know the most So make good post and get positive replies.
But do what you please.

You stumbled on this forum a few days ago, but the E55 forum has been going strong for more than 10 years...
I'm sure its hard for you to understand, but there's a whole big world full of people who ALREADY figured everything out before you.....AND WROTE IT ALL DOWN ON THIS FORUM!!!
It is almost impossible to think of a question that hasn't already been answered here MANY times. Read more, post less...... And you'll get along fine here.

The DIY for the diffuser is really straight forward.
1) Depending on the type you get, you may or may not have to take off the black trim on the bumper. On my E63, the black trim is simply glued on. Peel it off and clean the bumper thoroughly of any remaining glue left on it.
2) I choose to lower the exhaust just to get to the one bolt on each side easier, but you can do it without lowering the exhaust. The Euroteck one i purchased from Tal came with two holes pre-drilled and also had the double side tape already applied.
3) Center the diffuser and drill a small hole in the bumper on each side. The actual hole is essentially exactly between the twin exhaust pipes (to give you a feel for the location). It helps to have a helper holding the diffuser and making sure it is centered. A marker also ensures that you do not drift.
4) Dry fit is and make sure all is good.
5) Now peel off the double side tape. You can stick it on starting in the middle and work your way to the edges. For me given that is was perfectly aligned i started at one side, inserted a 6mm bolt with washers on both sides and stuck the diffuser on to the bumper starting at the bolt and ending at the other end at the bolt.
6) Tighten the two bolts. Color the bolts black. Step back and enjoy.
7) Put the exhaust back if you choose to let it hang. It is simple, only two brackets with two bolts on each side.
Took 20 minutes.
As a side note, the first diffuser i purchased was not a good fit and the gap on bots ends by the muffler tips was about 3/4 of an inch and would require a lot of force to make it mold to the bumper. So, I returned that one. The Euroteck one was a much better fit.
