WOW did a few runs against and drove a Ferrari 458 Italia
My sisters b/f is buying and selling high end cars and he just picked up a Ferrari 458, I was lucky enough to drive it and put a few runs against it with my E55. The car is beautiful inside and out drives like its on rails and sounds purely amazing. I do have a few videos of him and i doing a few runs and to my surprise the 55 held its own with 3 passengers in her as well we did a few pulls in 2nd gear and the 55 was slowly pulling. Top end im sure the Ferrari would have walked away but i was happy to say i ran with a ferrari win or lose

I drove one last year at exotics racing in las vegas, got it up to about 150 on the straight away, really fun car and like you said drives like it's on rails... Best transmission I have ever seen.. I also drove an R8v10, 430 scud and porsche 997 turbo S.. The 458 was by far the best out of the 4. That car was like a drug to me, came home and started pricing them up, just too expensive however..

Only Ferrari I have driven is the Scuderia at Roma Autodroma track. I must say if I was to own one it would be a dd car. I have only been a passenger in a 458 but it was pure sex from my point of view.
