My E55
Acquired an E55 last week from an auction. It's an 05 with 130k on it. It was stated that it had a supercharger noise and a small oil leak. But the price was too good to pass it so I figured I'll give it a shot.
It is satin white and used to be silver. Paint job is rough. Looks like Maaco painted it without any prep. Even rubber seals are painted white. Seals I am planning on replacing. What to do with the paint job, not so sure. I mean it's probably a 5 out of 10. It's not that bad, but still kind of a little upset about it. Haha.
Issues:
- Supercharger noise due to shot clutch bearing. Got that replaced. Runs like a champ;
- Oil came out a little on a dirtier side. Got that replaced. Had some cheap oil filter. Put Mann+Hummel filter so it's g2g;
- Air filters were K&Ns already. Washed and resprayed with oil;
- Oil leak turned out to be a supercharger blow by, doesn't look bad at all;
- Keyless Go doesn't work. Cooled seats don't seem to be operational. Replaced trunk and hood batteries. Replaced batteries in the remote and voila, everything is back to normal and works flawlessly.
- Rear tires are shot. Replaced them with ContiSportContact 3s.
- Hazy headlights. Restored them.
- Front brakes need to be replaced. Looking into different options now.
I don't have any really good pics but here is what I have.

Hazy headlights and restoration in progress:
Overall mechanically it's in very good condition. Driving to Buckhead on Monday so we'll see how well it will take a 9 hour trip each way

Doesn't need to have any indication but still a good idea especially with a car you know nothing about. Nothing to lose ,actually a good thing to do before doing mods that will put extra stress on the motor. Do it before you goto buckhead
