I run Continental Extreme Contract DWS06, because we get snow here in Northern Virginia, and it's a good all-season tire. If I live in a hot climate environment, I would run Michelin Pilot Sports.

My buddy the AMG Tech and Shop Foreman, said the following in regards to your vehicles suspension damping mode.
The car will automatically adjusts its ride height to; increase vehicle safety and reduce fuel consumption.
The vehicle chassis ride height is raised or lowered according to the selected level setting and the vehicle speed:
In Comfort Mode
As the car is lowered via the suspension damping settings, there is negative camber introduced into the suspension, also if you lower the car with either adjustment links or lowered via Star.
But not enough negative camber to introduce extreme tire wear.

In Comfort Mode
- Your vehicle will drop approx. 0.4 in (10 mm) at speeds above 68 mph
- Your vehicle will drop approx. 0.6 in (15 mm) at speeds above 68 mph
- Your vehicle will be raised approx. 1.2 in (30 mm) for rough roads and snow
- Your vehicle will be raised approx. 1.4 in (35 mm) for rough roads and snow

Yuille36, This is awesome information from your friend. What a great resource. Would you bother him one more time? Ask what happens at 40mph.
Is he suggesting that they all drive at same height regardless of setting at this mph?
Thanks!

Damn you.. daaaaamn you. I could have gone without ever knowing about those. Now I am more than likely going to do stupid things and it will be entirely your fault. My only hope is that they don't have 'em in 18"...

The Airmatic comprises these two components:
· Adaptive Damping System (ADS)
· Vehicle level control via the ride height end links on the suspension
The Airmatic Dampening System (ADS) automatically selects the optimum damping with respect to the suspension setting in Sport 1, Sport 2 or Comfort. And the Airmatic automatically selects the optimum ride height for your vehicle.
Yes, the ride height isn't effected at speeds below 68 mph, no matter what settings the dampening is presently in.

They did say they wouldn't install again, it took 5 guys to get them mounted. They said their machine wasn't strong enough for a tire with that small of sidewall.
