Replacing rear flex disk - neutral NOT neutral?!?!

Gang - I'm about to replace my rear flex disk...

Car is up on lift...in neutral... but it damn sure doesn't feel like neutral (i.e. drive shaft won't rotate).

Any idea what gives?

Damn.

Unlike other non-AMG W211's... it looks like our drive shafts have a center spindle that make this a bit of a bit*h to do. Pushing the drive shaft back enough to get it off that spindle and remove the flex disk is turning out to be tough.

Other than that...this would have been a 30 min job.
