SUNVISORS

Anybody out there running a sunvisor other then AMG (alcantara)? Both mine are toast and OE discount parts wants $498.75 per visor. Anybody running a stock E500 visor? if so, how does it look and where did you buy? Thanks

Check the classifieds to see if anyone is parting a car out.

Ducati
Is the mechanism sticking or is the seam separating?

I was able to resuscitate mine that were stuck by lubricating the arm.

This place is a joke.
I fixed mine. Split them apart, greased the shaft and reglued with white Gorilla glue (only use a little!!) and hold together with masking tape to dry.

Well, damn. That sucks that you haven't found one. I'll need a driver-side one eventually.

Both! My drivers side is frozen (cant flip up and down without some strength), and it separated just a week ago when we had the heat wave here. Its Effd as I took a closer look yesterday. Some of the plastic broke and I imagine i will find it when I vacuum next. The passenger side is repairable it just came unglued!

My driver's side was sticking and really hard to move. I took it off, held it rod side up and dripped some WD-40 down the shaft and slowly rotated it. Now it is as good as new!

This.

Just don't force it, otherwise the internal mechanisms break, and it won't fully sit against the roof.

I've been hunting a driver side sunvisor for almost a year now with no luck. It's typically one of the first items to go on a parts car or it's mangled beyond repair. Ebay tends to only have the secondary visors available which I don't need. I tried the lubrication methods described above since my original one was sticking horribly and rufused to sit flush against the headliner. Nothing worked so I trashed it, not knowing it was a $500 part from the dealer at the time.

Quick - I have been hunting the elusive drivers side as well for awhile now. Seems when I see one its already spoken for! You can always try junk yards or buy a stock E500 one, it wont be alcantara but they dont look that bad. Yeah $500 is ridiculous especially when there just glued instead of being stitched/glued. My dealership wanted $700 plus!

GL in your search brotha!
