Hi guys, I need a little help on some car issues.
1) I got a 2004 e55 amg used at 28k miles at $26k clean out the door at a 3rd party dealer (non-mercedes benz). Clean title.
2) The dealer offered me extended warranty from a company called
Safe-guard LLC.
The warranty is
5 years/40k at $3600
5 years/70k at $4200
Deductible - $250
Can anyone please tell me if this is a reputable company? Has anyone used them? Would you recommend them? I haven't purchased the car yet. I'm actually going to go tomorrow and take the car to get a PPI at a benz dealer. If the benz dealer gives me the greenlight I will go ahead and purchase the vehicle but I'm confused on what to do with the warranty. Should I get a warranty from the benz dealer instead?
Also, any other tips, tricks, things I should look out for so that I don't get fooled?
Thanks guys.

Did you check to see if the car is moded? Sounds like a nice car with low miles but they are asking full price.

Did you work them down to 26k OTD or was that their asking price? its not a terrible price but on the upper end. I would try to haggle with them to see if you can get it for a bit cheaper.
for warranty, i would just Google the companies name and see what people are saying about their warranties. If you decide to go with them I would definitely go with the 70k miles option.

I would rather own a higher mileage E55 with ongoing service history, rather than a low mile car that has been sitting or driven a few miles every couple of months.
It is not the mileage that hurt these cars, but rather frugal owners who don't spend the money on proper service over time.
