Idle/throttle issues-Need help-Video inside
hey guys, i have a 2004 E55 with about 98000 miles on it. Last week, I had just finished the valve cover gaskets, plugs, and wires. After installing the new parts, I put my FTP intake system on and immediate, the check engine light came on and i scanned it with my Bluetooth scanner and the torque app. I got the code P0507 which says there is a fault in the idle speed and it is higher than expected. I did some inspecting around the throttle body to see if i left anything out or accidentally knocked off a vacuum line or something. Everything was okay.
I then sprayed a little brake cleaner in the area to see if anything happens. It quickly spiked the rpm up. however, the area i sprayed it had no hose or anything. It was on the drivers side of the throttle body. i couldn't figure it out so i left it in the driveway all week. Today i came home and took the intake off again, and the Y-pipe and looked at the inside of the throttle body. The throttle plate was really filthy and covered in dirt and grime. however, I didn't clean it while still on the car.
I then used a floor jack handle and rigged it to the seat to depress the pedal and see how it affected the TB. check out the video. even with slight taps, the plate would open up a lot. check out both videos and tell me what you think. I did a lot of searching on the forum but couldn't find anything that applies to a STOCK TB which is what i have. Today the following code came up: P0221 which refers to a TPS issue.

check the aluminum piece that slides into the supercharger i am sure you had to remove it when you did your valve covers and maybe you didnt push it all the way in..

here is the second video. found it strange that the plate would open up that much with such little amount of pedal pressure...

its located on the drivers side under the surge tank and is bolted into the last left top bolt of the valve cover gasket.... the aluminum part hooks into the hose that kinda goes over the fuel line to the right...

thanks Berti. Im gonna take another look soon. I hope i could get this squared away. i did the whole valve cover job over a course of a few days because i ended up painting the covers which took up quite some time and also constant bad weather here in NY.

good luck man, hope you do.... its a bit tricky so make sure its pushed all the way in or you'll get all kinda of idle issues and CEL's and it always almost happens to people after they do their valve covers for the first time.

So I took the surge tank off on the driver's side to inspect it further and sure enough, the pipe along with the rubber sleeve was completely out. So after pushing it back in, I got the urge to get the tanks painted to match. SO out came the other side as well and cleaned the inside/outside with brake cleaner. I was surprised to find oil residue in them.
I think this is the perfect time to install the new oil catch can i just ordered. ADD-W1 in red with dual filter plates. Has awesome reviews. Just out of curiosity, is there anything else I should address/replace/service/upgrade while the tanks are out? I hate to do things more than once unnecessarily

So I think I'm having this problem... Is there any way to get at this without taking the surge tanks off? Anyone have a better pic of the area?

You might be able to feel for it by hand. Look at the second pic in BRABUSCL600's post; use that hose going into the firewall as a reference.
If you can't see/feel it, start the car and lightly spray some brake cleaner down around the TB and surge tanks. If your idle does some weird crap, you have a leak.

10/10 chance if you did valve covers you forgot to put that hose in. I did the same thing. You have to remove one bolt (bracket holder) and then guide the hose in by hand. I remember I just took everything apart (intake surge tanks) on the driver side.
