To me, they have been a nice modification.
don't get me wrong, on first install the bottom lost a bit on the torque side but pulled like a **** on the top end, now with Jerry's retune on the dyno - he adjusted the AFRs and damn it just pulls like mad anywhere

Swapping headers isn't too terribly hard.
the guy that did mine (you know him) had them installed in an hour (the wrench part) but welding was another issue though (see my kleemann downpipe thread) - but I agree, if the parts were availalble - the man could swap all of em in a day

Bay Area Dyno Day - Eurocharged came in last Friday/Saturday and retuned me

I have the Kleemann header for almost 3 years... no problem at all. Sound great and great power. For $1K, you can't complain.

$43/HP for the MBH at that price
$26/HP for the Kleemans (mine were $900)

With our headers we make a consistent 46 wheel horsepower gain on a 100% stock car. If the car already has mods, tossing headers on, of any kind will yield more power than putting the same headers on a bone stock car. IF your E55 makes 450whp with a pulley and tune, Tossing our headers on will most likely bring you to the 510whp mark. Below you will see a very powerful E55 that had shorty headers on it. After we upgraded the car to our long tube headers and adjusted the tuning file. we picked up an extra 43whp over the headers and tune that were previously on the car. I'm jogging my memory a bit as this was done like 4 or so years ago. In that time we have seen some good advancements in tuning on these cars. I think it's safe to say if this car didn't have headers but all other supporting mods. Adding our headers would have given him something like a 60whp boost. With that said adding headers to a car that already has performance mods, will get you more power from that mod, than doing headers on a 100% stock car.

If truly a apples to apples comparison is to be had, you need to see what headers make on each car, with no other mods... Not even tuning. Then you can take those numbers and do a cost per horsepower analysis. In reality if the mods you put on your car (from any mfg) make you happy. Than that is what it is all about.

I agree, you guys make some wicked headers

I didn't want this to get into the "x vs y" type of thread... I'm amazed that I waited 2 years to do this mod.

Mercedes
Anyone tried these long tubes yet? In the world of overpriced aftermarket Mercedes, $1K is an amazing price. I would go for them but I already have PLM shorty headers.

Interesting Thread.
I have the Kleeman 1000$ cheapos lying around here still and i'm very disappointed by the quality. They are made in China since many months now and you see that. Before according to my informations, they were made in Germany by the same company that makes LTH for Renntech Europe. Those were the better early ones.
Ugly Welding but especially from Inside, when you look inside the tubes its hard to describe how bad the quality and overlappings and whatever looks. Also at the ports its like little twisted and the diameters of the ports are different - no ****.

I have to Grind that inside to make it anywhere near smooth.
About the long downpipes and their wrong bending, bad holder welding, etc i don't want to start about. Quality very very bad. Hope they will last a few years anyway.

My first set of downpipes had bad welds, Cory set me up with a fresh set and they were perfect

it sounds like they may have some quality issues - so be sure to check the inner diameter downpipe welds prior to installing - plus it helps Kleemann get back to the builders and improve quality...

I need to contact the CEO in Denmark for that, because he was selling the set to me.
I dont want to start fitment work on the car if they already look extremely bad just by looking at them.

Will do some HQ Pics and post them here in the next days....

Flex pipe

Hello E55 members. Here due to the plain fact it's the E55 AMG folks who are clearly doing the most tuning. So, banking on your experience(s). Been two months with an 06 CL55 AMG (black w/dark grey interior)...an out of the box ready to go beast. No mods save K&N air filters. Week after X-Mas splitting the I/C cooling circuit. Next up is Kleeman long tube headers. To preserve whatever peace remains in the cabin...no other exhaust mods. 1. Best vender and price? 2. Is a flex pipe necessary? A EC remote tune thereafter. May not do a smaller blower or larger crank pulley. Objective is to have enough on tap to hold its own with CTS-V, BMW M crowd, or the likes. Last week a CTS-V wagon wanted a go but I knew it would be futile, unless... You guys are having a hoot! Please feel free to advise the most logical mod direction.
Thank you and Happy Holidays

12.67 AFR at 6300 rpm? Are you comfortable with that? I would prefer to loose a few HPs and get it closer to 12 as a high.
