Well its time to start a family, so I decided to sell my CLK550 for a more family friendly sedan. I needed something with four doors and that could do 0 to 60 below 5 secs. I found an E55 with 49K miles on it. I purchased the car from the original owner and it is in excellent shape. The previous owner had the Eurocharged Stage 1 power pack installed and also did some small lighting mods. Overall it is in near flawless shape.
My first mod was to add a front tow hook license plate frame. I purchased the frame from Larry at moweraxle. He is a great guy to work with and his craftsmanship is excellent.
I always keep my cars mostly stock, but after driving the car, I'm glad the previous owner did the upgrade.
Congrats!
$25K is reasonable for the miles. Black on black is also difficult.
I had to pay-up to get my low-miles car recently too. (single owner, local car)
We'll be here once you move past, "always keep my cars mostly stock".
Surprisingly I only got 14k for my clk550. It was also pristine with 68k miles. For some reason, people perfer the v6. Anyways, after looking at a G8 GXP, CTS V, STS V, BMW 335, BMW 550, and a ML 550, Im glad I waited for the E55.
Congrats man. I too am actively seeking one just like yours and there's not much out there that's not well taken care of. I had to up my spending price as well to bypass some of them. Funny, almost the same car shopping list as yours too. That Euro upgrade was a nice factor considering car and final pricing.
What wood finish and options did you get with yours ?

Im not sure what it is called, but it is darker than the wood on the CLK. Much nicer visually also.

Sweet. That's what I'm after but I keep finding the maple wood (brown) versions on the jet blacks - No biggie and it's a minor criteria. Enjoy the new toy

Congrats on the E55.
This is called Birdseye Maple. When new, it was black. It always fades over time, some cars in the south will even turn a light green color. Depending on how much sun the car has seen will determine the current shade. Open one of your front doors and look at the color where the door trim wraps around the front. That's the original color.

Very interesting. The original owner hat a pretty dark tiny all around (18%). That may be a reason the interior on mine looks pretty clean and not faded.
