A Glimpse of MB engines to come...

This is the first intor of the new line of engines that MB will be switching to. Highlights: 4V/Cylinder, Direct Inject, Variable Valve Timing. Can you imagine this with a Kompressor on top. Wow.

Notice, MB is going back back to 4 valves, nice, I want one.

It is about time MBZ is upgraded the HP numbers. That 3.2 with 215 - 221 HP is not enough for todays market. 272 HP in a C-Class is good power.

sl 500
confusing
now i am confused. so when the new slk will be available and i guess one of the models available will be called SLK 350.
the sl 350, s350 will have a different engine which is currently 3.7litres and 3 valves per cylinder.
do u think they will replace with the new engine in the SL and S class as well

Yes every V6 and V8 and V12 will be the new technology. MB makes all these engines on the same line, ever wonder why the V6 angle is the same as the V8's? So they can make them on the same line. Of course MB chose the 90degree V angle to optimize smoothness for the V8. For a V6 it should be 60 degrees.

Kinna odd how MB had to cut down the number of valves while Audi increased the number of valves their cars had (5-valves per cylinder) during the same time....

More than the 95 US spec C36 @268 but less than the last Euro spec at @ 280.

I am sure the economy and emissions don't come close to the 3.5L V6.
