Did you notice any IAT difference? You think if it was 3/4" thick it would be better?
There are other points where the intake touches the engine, right?
Whats with the Valley of the "V"? That always gets veeeery hot and the IC bottom should be isolated from it first.

In other words, from many little things come big results.

I have a 4.5 gallon trunk tank with in-tank pump as well as a Mezeire pump up front with EC heat exchanger. None of this is able to keep IAT's in check with my 185 pulley when the temperature is ~70F or above. I will typically see 140F at the top of third.
Perhaps the spacers work for some, I don't have them so i can't speak to their efficacy, but unless they can drop IAT's by 20-30F they wouldn't be worth it to me.
