Phenolic spacers

Who has theses spacers and how thick are they? I was at a speed shop and I saw 3/4" thick phenolic spacers on some crazy big blower engine. The Owner said the original 1/4" thick spacers did not make that much of a difference. But, when he increased it to 3/4 it had a positive effect. He said the IATs were slower to increase and faster to recover. That got me thinking of the phenolic spacers for our cars. Who has them? And what do you think of 3/4 phenolic spacers as a possibility for our cars?

I dont know how much they are "worth" on our Plattform though.
There are other points where the intake touches the engine, right?
Whats with the Valley of the "V"? That always gets veeeery hot and the IC bottom should be isolated from it first.

All of these efforts to reduce heat soak are interesting yet fail to address the issue of the intercooler being too small and inefficient. The hight IAT's come from it's in ability to keep up with the demand.

I have a 4.5 gallon trunk tank with in-tank pump as well as a Mezeire pump up front with EC heat exchanger. None of this is able to keep IAT's in check with my 185 pulley when the temperature is ~70F or above. I will typically see 140F at the top of third.

Perhaps the spacers work for some, I don't have them so i can't speak to their efficacy, but unless they can drop IAT's by 20-30F they wouldn't be worth it to me.

I was thinking of either adding a killer chiller, so as to start off at a cooler temp, or go with nitrous.
