Supercharger Oil Refill Tips

Best way honestly is to remove supercharger out and fully drain Which is what I did and drained every drop of it, it just makes you feel better knowing you aren't mixing old oil with new, but than again it's a ***** to take that heavy *** thing out. But if you get the opportunity to completely drain it ones than other times extract what you can than add new

I'm not sure about the exact increment of oil that should be added to an empty supercharger. But if the supercharger is level ....it's like a differential on a rear pumpkin, where you fill it to the Weep/fill hole ..... Fill the supercharger up through that hole and when oil starts to come out then put Teflon tape on and plug it... I would hate to have you have low oil because you only put 130ml
However, I did not level the engine, just the car. I'm going to level the SC this weekend and check it again.

Extra supercharger oil tips to consider
It appears many are getting ~30 - 40 ML out and replacing with ~130 ML vs. the OP getting 200 - 300 ML, which makes me believe folks are not draining properly (SC not level). Either way, the difference in what goes in vs. what goes out should be a good indicator that an oil change should be done more frequently. It is too bad AMG did not incorporate a separate oil take for the SC (e.g. like Rotrex does). I wonder if it would be relatively easy to add an external tank after the fact ...
So armed with this knowledge there are a couple of things I believe should be stressed and adhered to:
1. Reiterating what was said in my initial post - Poke around into ALL THE NOOKS AND CRANNIES inside the supercharger as oil could be lurking in small quantities in lower crevices. The only effective way of doing this is to insert a 2 foot length of thin wire into the hose you are using for extraction which will enable you to bend it in various positions and poke the hose precisely into all the hard to access interior corners. Or as Berti mentioned remove the supercharger to fully drain although this will make the job far more complicated. Still a good excuse to clean and inspect underneath, paint the blower, upgrade the injectors or maybe install a looped fuel rail...?
2. As the oil comes in a 1 quart can there will be more than enough left over to change it again after a couple of weeks. Any remains of old oil left in the supercharger after your first drain will have blended with the new oil so any oil left over this second time will be relatively clean (mine had a purplish tinge and a slight odour) but after mixing with your second change should be almost perfect - as long as you have properly drained it on both occasions.
This is cheap and easy maintenance that will protect the expensive beating heart of your beast - there is no reason to refrain from doing it immediately - especially considering the meager amounts some members have extracted. Even after the 2 initial changes described above you should still have enough oil left in the can for another 1 or 2 extra changes down the road. The interval is purely guesswork but in the future I plan on changing the supercharger oil every time I change my engine oil. Probably over cautious but much better than apathetic.

Many thanks to TheTherapist! I used the wire in a small diameter tube as he suggested and got 260ml of old oil out in my second change using my Mityvac brake bleeder. Refilled it and its good to go. Will do this regularly. The extra Jet II certainly does me no good just sitting in the can. Thanks again.

Quick question, how do we know the mobil jet oil is the one required in the SC ? Is there some Mercdedes documentation about that ?

It is in the original service book that came with car (mine still has it). Look for the doc here or Google and you will find it. I've verified and it's indeed in there.

No. There was a small booklet with all of the approved fluids, etc. that came with the car. It's in there. I'll look next time I'm in there at what the title of the booklet is.

Just did mine today. As mentioned above, I put back 3 times more than I took out! Also, but a ball head long handle allen wrench (mine was also magnetic) for $2 and it makes getting the plug out so much easier!

+1 on the ball head allen wrench. We always used one although I can imagine what a pita it would be without.

Thanks to the knowledge base on this forum, I changed the supercharger oil the other day. I was going to use the suck-n-fill method, but last time we had the car apart we couldn't help but notice one of the fasteners holding the TB in place felt very dicey last time if got torqued. Sure enough the threads came out with the bolt when we checked. So did 2 others. This car had a bigger TB installed, which involved some welding to get the snout to adapt. Seems like the bolts that were used were too small. In any case the blower had to come off to re-drill and tap the threads, so we just drained it, filled it partway, and drained it again. Level on the bench we put ~160 ml back in to get the oil level with the drain hole. New threads, bigger bolts, back together and all's well again..
