E55 WAGON HITS 5 PEOPLE
One of your 55 brothers ran over three kids and two adults. One child was stuck under the car. Anyone know him?

Hope the little 2 year old will be fine. There is always 2 sides to a story, but the moral of the story is to always yield to pedestrians, not to try to pass before they cross... kind of hard not to see that many people trying to cross unless you're drunk, distracted, etc.
Don't be a dick because you have a faster car, courteous drivers are the best drivers on the street. You're not on the track, cool it.
As for the pedestrians... even though you have the right of way, you should be very cautious. I personally don't cross the street until a driver really slows down.

That's so horrible to hear about. I hope everyone comes out ok. I'd be a mental wreck if I was the driver.

He told the officer (a friend of mine), he expected them to see him coming and stop. Apparently he was unaware pedestrians in a MARKeD Cross walk have the right away.

I agree, I tell my kids to stop and look anyway even if there is a walk sign lit, you never know if someone is texting or whatever. But still, this guy was dead wrong. There were several people that lifted the rear of the car to get the one child out. A security camera captured it all.

What's so gut wrenching about this is when most people see young children near a street......without hesitation......stop their vehicle or slow down and change lanes. This assmunch does no such thing and assumes they will not cross?

This is the only comment on the article:
Wow news crew, get your information right! There was never a child stuck under that car! These so called "heroes" are simply begging for undeserved attention and your feeding it to them. This makes me sick! Anyone with a brain in their head would know three people couldn't lift a car like that even in their dreams! Also, for the record, that woman walked her kids into the street OUTSIDE OF THE CROSSWALK. Since when are drivers expected to yield to j walking pedestrians. This story should really be focused on a mother with three kids who walked into Broad Street, outside of a crosswalk, without even looking! By the way, no one is in critical condition and they never were.

Probably the 55 driver and his buddy making a comment! LOL That or some typical Columbus white trash making a stupid comment. The cross walk is clearly in the background. They shouldn't let dumb people make dumb comments.

From the Ohio Pedestrian laws....
That last sentence has me wondering about the exact situation.
Also, if they were not using the crosswalk....
However, that last clause is most likely what will bite this driver in the butt.
4511.46 Pedestrian on Crosswalk has Right of Way
When traffic controls are not in place or not in operation, a driver shall yield the right of way to a pedestrian crossing the roadway in a crosswalk when the pedestrian is upon the same half of the roadway as the driver, or so close as to be in danger. No pedestrian shall step off the curb and walk or run into the path of vehicles so close as to be an immediate
hazard.

4511.48 Right-of-Way Yielded by Pedestrians Where there is No Crosswalk *
When not crossing at a crosswalk, the pedestrian must yield the right of way to all traffic upon the roadway. When between intersections where traffic signals are in operation, pedestrians shall cross only in marked crosswalks.
* These laws do not relieve the operator of a vehicle from exercising due care to avoid colliding with any pedestrian upon any roadway.
