Easy bluetooth if you have the iPod cable...

Gang...on a whim I bought one of these to see if it would work...and it's pretty awesome.

If you have the factory iPod cable AND use a sosche adapter (search for it)... this thing turns it into a pretty damn good bluetooth setup for... get this... $7.49.

The only drawback is song names don't appear in the dash.

I do have the factory ipod cable, I want to connect my Samsung Galaxy to my car stereo. I would rather have it connected via the aux input but it seems it's disconnected to allow the ipod connect to work. I am hoping this is my answer. However I can't for the life of me figure out what the scosche connector is for in this case

Ok OP did not come back on this thread so I will take over. I bought this unit and tried it out. Just the unit from Ebay I did NOT get the Schosche connector.

Quick easy pairing with my phone (Samsung Galaxy S5). Immediately plays songs loud and clear I will say 95-100% the sound quality as an iPod connected to the stock cable directly. Very easy end user manipulations.

Cons
There is this whinny noise in the background. Not sure what or why its there. When I turned up the Bluetooth volume on my phone, the noise all but went away however it is there some
Your device bluetooth volume (or regular volume if you don't have a dedicated bluetooth volume) must be maxed out to get good sound. If not you get a tinny sound. Not a problem for me since my phone has different volumes for different setups like media, notification, bluetooth, etc etc

I only spent about 5 mins with it setup and testing. I will have more in-depth info when I actually am driving around with it later today
For now I give it a very thumbs up!

ViseeO costs a bit more, but the reviews are promising!

Drove around yesterday with it. Works really well when playing music on the phone. The background noise I talked about is only there between tracks even at the lowest set volume. It's only distracting of you don't have anything playing at all.

One issue, playing Pandora was terrible at the usual eq setting. The tinny sound was there big time. I adjusted the bass and reduce the treble and was back to normal. I don't think I can listen to the normal radio at those settings so seems that will have to be changed again when I switch from radio to Pandora each time.

If you do try that please post. This one is currently working decently well so I'll make do unless my two issues are fixed with the more expensive one. In that case I'll bite

Still don't know what it's supposed to do in this case. Didn't get it since I wasn't planning on using an apple product for my Bluetooth product.

I purchased the Viseeo Tune2Air WMA1000 for my 2007 S550. I have an Android Samsung Galaxy S5 and for whatever reason it does not play even after confirming successful pairing. When I plug my iPod directly into the 30Pin connector, it plays music through the Aux flawlessly. When I substitue the Tune2Air adapter and confirm phone connection, I get absolutely nothing. I'm not sure if its a defective issue or just my car. I plan to borrow my brother's iPhone later on to test that connection to confirm it's an Android issue.

Sounds like the more expensive unit has some of the same issues as the cheap unit ie limited by the crappy stock system.

Try turning the volume on both your phone (Bluetooth volume) and the car to the max and see what you get

do you need the scosche power adapter to power the Viseeo? (I'm investigating this as well)

< $25 to try it out

@todaster you do not need the scosche power adapter to power the Viseeo
NO you dont need adapter
I have both and prefer the Viseeo

My 30-pin adapter also serves as a power supply. Therefore i don't think that's the issue. My brother and I have been passing ships in the night and can never seem to link up so I can try his iPhone. I plan to run by his place over the weekend to test.

Mine worked pretty much right away using the cheapo ebay product and my Samsung Galaxy S5
But I wonder if powering it up via the adapter will reduce the background noise granted I am only nit picking about the noise

I do not see how you can get songs to display using anything other than an Apple product, being that the cord was made specifically for that. So no I do not expect my Android device to display anything on the cars screens

For calls...I think if there was a way to incorporate a microphone, it might just work. I can hear all my callers over my speakers, can't talk back to them though, not even on the phone directly

i've tried this but my 30 pin does not have power so it cannot power the bt adapter. anyone know how to resolve this. the 30 pin looks to be an aftermarket install.

The stock W211 iPod adapter looks and operates like an aftermarket unit. It does have power only if you have selected auxiliary/iPod on the COMAND unit to play your iPod
You do have to crank up the volume to hear anything
