TPMS won't go away....
Picked up another E55 with some 19" HRE wheels...they look great, but have no TPMS sensors in them. My shop has used the Star box to try to remove the TPMS from the ring, have followed the directions here, but the icon stil shows up saying "Reset TPMS ". What are we missing? another step that we don't know about? This car is an 04 211 US model, are my instructions wrong? Can someone point me to a TPMS removal thread, perhaps there is more than one? Thanks if you can help, really frustrating!

Firstly, what instructions are you using?
I just went the other way. I added HREs with TPMS sensors and retrofitted TPMS where my car did not have them before.
There are several menus that need to be enabled from being disabled. I have a developer DAS. I am not 100% sure if that is needed or not.
Why not just add the TPMS sensors, they are useful to have I think ... some people say that the TPMS is annoying. Just set the alert parameters lower is all. I have had not issues. It is good to have as safety in not destroying your rims. I drove in snow one time with a flat (didn't know it was flat because of the snow). Luckily did not destroy the rim. Most of the time you'll know if it is flat or not though
I know at least of one other person that has successfully disabled theirs.

Mine is disabled. There are two places it needs to be turned off in Star: Instrument Cluster and BCM
Someone on here that knows a lot told my guy where to turn it off. He said once you know there are tow places, it was easy. Sorry I cant tel you more.

In Star:
Go into instrument cluster - control unit adaptation - TPMS - select all settings to turn off.
Now go into the CGW - control unit adaptations- all coding- and remove the TPMS system from the coding
