60ft from 1.8s to 2.5s

Always semi slick tire toyo r888 265/35/18 always track without glue. Repeatable track.

1. Stage 1: pulley 180 + HE ecu EC tune 1.9-2.0 60ft
2. added TB82 and EV14 inj. trunk tank kit EC tune 1.75-1.85 60ft
3. added kleemann headers - 60ft without change
4. change ecu tune, now BIP tune - 60ft still without change, different throttle response but still good 60ft on track without glue. But I was have many trouble with high rpm EC and BIP tune, disastrous AFR. BIP tune was some better.
5. added a lot of ice much better power but still problems with ev14 tune.
6. change to stock injectors retune and higher rpm back to normal.
8. retune and power is awesome, but time on 1/4mile is disgusting the same as on stage 1, but 60ft goes to 2.4-2.6 from 1.8.
9. added quaife lsd, still spin. Now two tires spin.

What is wrong?

Tested by professional driver. First gear always spin. Gearbox is perfectly. (high stall converter and stock converter - test). The engine has 15k mileage.

Problem is between 2000-3500 rpm on first gear, is it ecu tune problem, or something other?

Many test, many tire pressure test and don`t know what to do.

How is your suspension geometry? When was your last alignment? Is your car lowered? Do you launch it with suspension set to Comfort, Sport 1, or Sport 2 mode?

its your tires. you don't have enough sidewall flex for the narrow width of the tire. i run 315/30-18 r888 on my porsche and tire spin isn't a huge issue even with a 6 speed. while i have a narrow sidewall which doesn't provide much flex i have a combined 24" of tire width to help me hook.

go to the tried and true setup for the e55 cars. clk rims with 255/50-16 drag radials and a 20mm spacer. this will give you huge flexibility in tire pressures for a slick track and provide great hook. you can see 1.6 to 1.7 consistently with the right tire wheel combo. you can also buy your own vht and paint it on the rubber before you stage as a last resort

Have BIP retard the timing a bunch and the spinning should stop. That will prove to be cheaper than tires/wheels. I have the same problem with my BIP TCU/ECU tunes.

You definitely need a better wheel/tire combo.

Change the tires. I cut a 1.49 60ft with the clk wheels wrapped in Hoosier.

you need some real tires. I know for myself on the hit at say 3300rpms im only at 16deg of spark which is more than easy on stock boost. get tires.

Thanks for fast reply,
I launch it with suspension raised set. Suspension is stock.

TB about 60-80% (first gear), when TB is less than 50% start is ok, but 60ft 2.6-2.8.

From that video you are lighting up the tires as the rpm climbs. So much so that you hit the brakes when you start to go sideways.

Do you still have the EC tune you can try with? If this is because of the BIP tune, I need to call those guys! lol

You need to start practising to get the best acceleration with minimal wheelspin. Don't just floor it. Do you have the traction control disabled? If so turn it back on.

I drive this car long time, I don`t use TB only 0 or 100%.

Here is video stage 1 EC tune

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqTd...ature=youtu.be

Here is video stage 3 BIP tune bosch ev14 + ice. GTR 4 slick.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-upM...ature=youtu.be

I hate ev14 and don`t use them now.

Is it possible ECU tune problem?

You are making more power and spinning the tires, that's the problem. You wanna hook better without changing your driving, get the stock pulleys and tune back on the car

I never used drag tires, 255/50-16 will be optimal?

Exactly what rims should I use? how big the spacer is needed?

I've never tried drag radials.
178 pulley, shorty headers to oem cat back, OE tune with cooling upgrades.

Ran a 1.6 60' on 18" all seasons and trapped 11.8

  • Transmission mode
  • Esp state
  • Suspension mode
  • Vehicle still on stock height or lowered(star, elm etc)
  • All season tire used (Treadwear rating)
  • Type of burnout if any (enough to clean off debris or Smokey)
  • Tire pressure
  • Ambient air temp

Sorry for the long list but I would like to cut such 60's without having to haul my drag setup to the track.

Please tell me why? I read many people use this injector without issue. But also some claiming the injectors were bad in their cars after some time or even some sort of "dead on arrival".

Not sure on da or ambient but it was a little cool. Private rental with not a ton of people breaking their PB (well I did)

I drove it like I stole it to the track. Nearly zero cool down. Esp on. Trams in sport. Did a burn out on conti dws. Raised the car and just went for it. It was my quickest 60', et and trap I have ever done.
No air down, no ice bags, no cool down. I run what I brung.

You sir, are skilled cutting 60's like that with street pressure. Very impressive.

Thanks but I think I just got lucky. 1.8's the rest of the day.
I think there is something to be said for running her hard and not cooling the tires down to much with my street focused set up.
I love pointing at my car and saying "she runs 11's just like that".

Someday I will have a TT E63s and be able to point and say "she runs 10's just like that"

What is your trap speeds OP? With all the runs you have posted, only traps can tell if there is a problem with the tune or simply overpowering the tires

E55 AMG kills Camaro, then jousts with GT-R

Despite forum member "macko's" prowess with killing Camaros and giving GT-Rs a run for their money with his 2005 E55 AMG, Macko's got a bit of a traction issue.
