Killer Chiller installation
Hi
Ok I have some questions about installing a Killer Chiller into my E55.
1) How long does it take to install?
2) Did the A/C have to be re-gassed again?
3) Will the system work on a right hand drive car in Australia?
4) Will the A/C performance in the cabin reduce? This issue is important to me as I love m A/C!
5) Does the Killer Chiller come with a set of instructions?, if so I would love to read these.
I am proposing to add this to upgrade the efficiency of my existing split cooling system, upgraded front heat exchanger and trunk mounted water tank.
Regards,
OZZYAMG

Ok I have some questions about installing a Killer Chiller into my E55.
1) How long does it take to install?
dunno
2) Did the A/C have to be re-gassed again?
yes
3) Will the system work on a right hand drive car in Australia?
installation will be different; yes
4) Will the A/C performance in the cabin reduce? This issue is important to me as I love m A/C!
do a quick search this has been discussed, I believe there's a few new versions

some dude in a CL55 made a great video, its on youtube

remove the front heat ex-changer and place a tank in your trunk

Hi
Ok I have some questions about installing a Killer Chiller into my E55.
1) How long does it take to install?
my guy installed so i think he said taking his time was like 4hrs or so
2) Did the A/C have to be re-gassed again?
Yes
3) Will the system work on a right hand drive car in Australia?
shouldn't be a problem, just find a place to mount and run the lines.
4) Will the A/C performance in the cabin reduce? This issue is important to me as I love m A/C!
I live in hot and humid Alabama and it takes a hit, to me prob an extra 2-3min to get comfortable on the worst days.
5) Does the Killer Chiller come with a set of instructions?, if so I would love to read these.
See my link in the above post

Save money and skip the HE, I have mine bypassed and the KC performs better. Just hook it up IC>KC>Tank>IC.

I've been reading up on the KC and haven't started any cooling mods besides the Bosch 010. Wanted this to be the first and primary cooling mod. And maybe a H/E down the road.
But my biggest question about the system routing. I see a lot of people routing the KC in the system before the H/E. And have also heard ambient temps tend to raise the temperature of the already cooled fluid after the KC. Guess I just wonder if anyone has put the KC behind the H/E in the coolant system?
Thanks in advance for an answer.

Appreciate the quick answer. I've seen that option as well but I also read where a member's KC stopped working/got clogged from the oil used on installation. So I'd like to keep my stock H/E at least. And not have to run my A/C constantly to cool my S/C. Also if the KC is installed in the coolant system and the A/C is not running does it just work as a longer routed pass through for the system? Or is it completely closed off? Sorry if these seem like Newb questions. I just haven't found many people on this forum running them. Mostly on SVT forums and videos.

Then just lower the fan speed and or increase the temp some. So long as the AC is on the KC is working.
I run mine all the time for the KC.

You can put the temp higher and run the compressor also if you feel the need to still keep your HE then use a bypass valve to either switch from kc to HE

I used to have an 03 Cobra and had a friend that did a KC on his Cobra. He said it ran great and didn't hurt his AC effectiveness. When people would do the KC they would NOT upgrade the HE or the IC tank. You would not want to increase the amount of fluid that the KC has to cool. This was info that is several years old though from svtperfomance.com so I don't know if anything has been updated.
