--Engine bay IC tank--Need some advice
Hey guys i am working on making an IC tank for my car and getting rid of the small split cooling reservoir. I have a question on were could i make a drain point or run it down too???
i just made this model out of a cardboard box and this is not final or anything until i make it fit perfect and clean, and the cabin filter outline which is the last thing to worry about but my main concern would be a drain point and were to run it down too???

Rather just unscrew the return line and run the pump to evac the water or put a T on the return line and run a tap on it and every time you wanna drain turn the tap and run the pump so it drains out instead of back into the tank

I got a quote for a trunk tank from him @ $330. I this this one would be much cheaper. This would be due to the fact that there is not an internal pump.

You could also add a T to the output line (lower of the two) and have a line with the valve drain down the right side (passenger side) of the engine bay...

If your fabricating your own tank may I suggest you design the feed and return lines on the underside of the tank, that way your hose lines can be hidden over the front wheel arch liner to your HE, as stated you could fit a third drain line for when you need it, best thing is that once you have vented your IC system you can drain down the tank to a very low level prior to adding ice.
A thread of mine with a picture of my front tank with links to the uk site

Another thing I did was to connect a spare set of battery trickle charge leads to the small battery for ease if a recharge was required due to location of the tank.
