Looking for some info on the theft of E55's. Is it worth buying a aftermarket alarm system or are these cars pretty difficult to steal with factory stuff already installed.I have not heard of any being stolen in a long time. What do you guys think?

 

If someone wants it they will steal it. With a roll back of course. You cannot start the vehicle without DAS enable signals from multiple control units.

Greaser, I'm asking you since you are a tech at a dealership in the 90s Mercedes had the laser cut keys and they claimed the same thing that they were not able to be stolen wasn't that system broken? I'm curious that after 10 years of this new system the thieves haven't figured out a way around this

 

If your worried about your car getting stolen, then you should look into an alarm system that has some pretty cool modern features like GPS, which will show you the location of your car on your cell, and you can set it up that if the car is started it will alert you on you the cell also.
