Yep, Mark is the guy I dealt with. Very responsive and turnaround time is one day, I decided I couldn't live without the AirMatic. It's still a Mercedes and I prefer a smooth ride. Removing these wasn't bad at all and minimal damage to the pocket book, so it's all good Overnight shipped the air struts to Florida today, car should be back on the road next week.

Thanks for the help guys...

I carefully reinstalled the rebuilt RMT front air struts today and the car drives great again. These guys do great work, glad I didn't go with new Bistein units from the stealership. Total cost for DIY repair through Rebuilt Master Tech is $850 and they offer a 1 year warranty. Easiest way to replace these is to unbolt the upper ball joint and carefully pull down on the spindle/knuckle assembly...this will give you the clearance you need to remove and reinstall the fully extended air struts. Next up for this old girl is new RacingBrake brakes all the way around and a front end rebuild. The ***** joints and thrust arms are in bad shape at 95K miles. The control arm bushings look OK, no cracks.

"and they offer a 1 year warranty." I believe they are lifetime.

I went straight to Arnott last week and toured the facility before getting all new struts for my E55. To say that's a world class establishment is an understatement! I took lots of pics, plus pics of the install to do a write up on it here shortly.

The RMT front struts are working perfectly, no issues whatsoever. Now the front suspension and entire brake system are being rebuilt/upgraded. It was due for these items with 98K miles on the odometer.

This may have already been stated but I wanted to mention that I had an airmatic strut go out this weekend and advanced auto had one in my hand same day for $460... It's a little higher than what some guys have paid apparently but worth checking out if you need one in a hurry.

RMT dependable?

Anyone who has used this company RMT for air bag struts replacement can confirm if their air bags are dependable? I'm in a bind to either go with them or Arnotts? thanks.

How do you guys remove the inner fender liner out? I took all the screws off, but there was a wire in the middle of the cover running from top to bottom that prevented me from taking the cover off. I had to wiggle it around and replace the strut with the liner on. That is a pain in the neck.

ARe you referring to one of the wires that goes from the airtstrut to a connecter thats mounted to a connectour mount behind the liner? I dont recall any wire that is running on the OUTSIDE of the liner. Mine was like this:

Hm, yours doesn't have it; interesting. There is a ribbed wire running from the top to bottom that is attached to the left half of the liner (you know how it consists of 2 pieces.) I could remove the right one easily, but the left one that is towards the bumper didn't come off. I didn't want to force and break anything.

Does anyone know if both front sides dropping about an inch overnight normal? The car has been sitting for 3 weeks and didn't drop more than an inch. Seems like regardless whether a day passed or 3 weeks it drops about an inch.

I think this started happening after I replaced the front left with arnot remanufactured. But I could be wrong as I wasn't taking measurements before the replacement. Arnot sent me a replacement part, but not sure if it is worth replacing. Does anyone know?
