Broken Fan Belt
I am having a big issue with my 2008 W211 E63 and wanted to know if anyone had any experience with this problem or feedback. I have gone through not 1,2, but 3!!!! Fan belts in the last 2 years. They always break/shred and i have no idea why. I've had the pulleys replaced and I am still having this problem. Pretty annoyed because it always leaves me stranded on the highway ( of course it would).
Thanks for any feedback.

No direct expierince with an E63 and very little with my "new" E55, but from a mechanical standpoint:
Pulleys must all be in the same plane
- Offsets wrong, edges of belt will wear and belt may roll
(Check with a good straight edge. Might be hard on our cars though.)
- Loose bearings/bolts, wobble will throw a belt
- Bent/damaged pulley(s)
Note, premature failure of pulley bearings are notorious on our cars. ;-(
Tension
- Too much, pulley ribs eat into the belt or cords break
- Too little, slippage/wear or belt can roll
Check the tensioner.
Make sure you have the right belt length, especially if modded pulley's.
