That’s nothing special, if your car is covered and you have the symptoms then all the components you mentioned will be replaced. We got them replaced on all of our 211s. Hopefully they will last.

Glad another one got it covered. Thumbs up!

Seeing as mine is a 2005 and it just developed the problem, im sure the new parts will last another 14 years or more.

Just picked up my 2008 E63 from having all the components replaced. Seamless process.

Had mine done 3 year ago.... Hasn't run since. They kept installing it where the gauge would hang up and give me incorrect fuel readings... And of course I burnt up the pumps while troubleshooting it. I'm on the second pumps now but they left my battery cable loose this timetand I drove it around for a week and now I believe I have a fried ECU. Injector 1 and the cooling fan both stay on for about 15 seconds after I shut the car off fuel washing my cylinder wall. I have also ran it out if gas again and I think I need new pumps... again. Once I finally get this thing running I'm going to need new cats as well. Hopefully I haven't fried cylinder 1 yet.

For those who've had the recall performed, did they also replace your fuel filter? I had the recall performed but cant find my documentation for it, and I'm coming up on my fuel filter replacement interval.

I believe the filter is built into the fuel pump... The filter clogging and overheating the pumps is what the recall is for but I'm not 100%.

Of course because the filter is part of the entire pump assembly.

So I guess I am SOL! I just looked at my car to see when the manufactured date was and it is 12/03. Does this mean that I do not qualify? If I do not, can I purchase the old style pumps?

The pumps are 600 a pop on Rick Auto or it autohausaz. I can't recall which. That's the best deal I have found.

Yesterday car died. After some troubleshooting I found out my pump fuse burned through and the relay holder was brown (excessive heat). Replaced the fuse and car started right away for 20 seconds. Fuse burned through again. Looks like the new pump we got under this extended warranty in 2015 is already dead. Draws too much current and it takes a lot to burn a 30A fuse. I guess welcome to the club of owners who have issues with the replacement pumps.

Damn odd - - - If the pumps are pulling that much current (>30A) the only causes that occur to me are either clogged filters; malfunctioning bypass; excessive resistance in the circuit. I will be interested to hear what you discover.

Sorta getting frustrated. Dropped my car off at MB of delray in Delray Beach and she called me a few hours after saying the tech checked the leak out and said the fuel sending unit is cracked. So then I said the components should also be covered and send her the PDF Bulletin and I called her back. She then said she has that same bulletin and the part # that’s fail that went bad isn’t covered and said it’s the fuel sending module (sounds like the module and unit are one in the same, or at bare minimum it’s all part of one assembly).

I would like to just take the car to somebody else, but there is a $180 diagnostic fee being that the car isn’t covered under warranty although I disagree and after reading this thread it sounds like a lot of people have the same issue with the sending unit. So I can’t justify paying the $180 when I fell they’re being difficult

does anybody have an official list of the part #’s That need to be replaced? I’ve seen the pn from the photos people have unloaded but I’d like an official MB list.

Or am I just plain wrong?

The part that is leaking IS the sender unit and that is what is covered and therefore the entire repair/replacement is covered. Take your car and find someone who can follow simplest instructions. Deny payment and threaten with police if they don’t release your car.

If you don’t want to cause a scene, then pay with credit card and dispute it while you’re still in the parking lot after you got the keys just to make a statement.

My dealership that has my car is saying the part number 2114700000 is not covered because it’s not on their list of replacement parts. Is there any sort of documentation showing the change? I’ve called MBUSA and Rep escalated my complaint to somebody who should call me with 24 biz hours. The fact that I’m forced to waste my time and energy with this is annoying.

mb of delray.

Just sucks because I don’t want to pay the $180 to get my car and take it to a different place. Plus I have a case open with MBusa so they can approve this repair. They said “24 business hours” so In theory I should have my answer by Tuesday.

Assuming this does get approve, and it should being that it’s one of the listed “fuel components”. I’m gonna be pissed if it takes 6-8 weeks to get the parts. Im planning on taking this car on a cross-country road trip and have a bunch of other work on the I’d like to complete.

As you might have seen above I just replaced my pump with the updated part number. I ordered it in the afternoon and by noon the next day it was delivered/picked up. I might be able to help
you with a pump assembly if it takes them 8 weeks to get one. Plus I get steep discounts of up to 75% on all parts except theft relevant parts (for obvious reasons).

Good to know, I’ll keep that in mind.

So I’m not wrong to believe that the part # ending in “...0000” is covered under the warranty?

I just received a callback from MBusa and the guy I spoke obviously couldn’t give me a confirmation without confirming with their warranty people. But he agreed that my rationale that this part I need should be included in the warranty and the dealership is probably wrong.
