2006 E55 AMG Wagon for sale
Posted it in the classified and the thread for wagons as well.
I Originally sought this vehicle to make it a garage queen due to its rarity, and to drive once in a while. Did not happen for multiple reasons.
2006 E55 AMG Wagon:
- Iridium silver
- Black leather interior with burl walnut wood
- Navigation
- Power tailgate
- 3rd row seating
- Heat/cool seats
- Dynamic front seats
- Harman/Kardon sound
- 6 CD changer
- Rear passenger manual shades
- Xenon lights
- Sunroof
Now has little over 66K miles on the odometer. No accident or abuse....Highway driving mostly, and wife using it to take kids to school and back. Own 2 other toy cars and I am bit **** with my vehicles. Bought it in Aug 2013 with 54K on it from dealer in Dallas TX, and was shipped to me in Austin TX. Vehicle always garaged. It is a 2006 model, meaning has some normal wear and tear. I treat the leather, wash, wax the car at least once a month. Leather seat on driver/passenger front side show normal wear but visually good. Back seats are great. Front underneath bumper has been scratched by previous owner but cannot be seen unless you lift the car or put your head under the front bumper. It has some very few minor scratches and one ding on passenger side that is visible enough to bug me (someone here in Austin bang the side door) - I will fix that professionally before selling the car. Cannot be seen really but once you notice, you know it is there!
Previous owner had installed Sirius and Renntech Stage 1. Car is in very good condition in and out (some small scratches/ding as expected as explained above). Paint looks great. Did a PPI on it and came with a rating of 8/10 (OEM tires had only 5K left on them, hence lower rating at 8/10 I think). I can share the report from LemonSquad with you if you are a serious buyer.
I also pulled a Carfax report this past week, and will share with buyer. Also suggest you do a PPI for your own peace of mind, and can recommend a company. I will split the cost with buyer once the car is purchased.
Took it to my local MBZ dealer, and did a full service on the car 3 months after purchase....$1,200 later, car was diagnosed in very good condition and no issues were found. All fluids changed as well. I can share the report from my local MBZ dealer as well. Car is dealer maintained. Put a new OEM battery and new OEM crankshaft position sensor (common CPS issue as you know). Put on new Potenza S0-4 Pole Position last April - Stock sizes.
I have not had any issues with the car, and drives smooth and engine feels strong and pulls. But you already know that. Honestly, I am not sure what difference the Renntech Stage 1 offers since I had never driven a stock one. All I know is most of our friends are blown away when we go out as couples!
As for the price: $32.5K. I think I am in the ballpark and fair compared to the few I have seen sold with a lot more mileage on them.
Feel free to contact me via PM and I will try to respond ASAP. If you prefer a phone conversation for more details, please PM me your number and I will call you.
Thanks.

Wrong forum technically. And does your ad list the location of the car? It implies you're in Austin, but it doesn't explicitly state the car is for sale in Austin.
Flickr link doesn't work for me.
Lastly, I know wagons get a premium, but that's a $10K premium over a sedan (I think a similar sedan would sell in the $22k range). I understand that your price is an asking price, so there may be a lower realization than that. But nevertheless...
And last but not least, I understand you may not be a professional at this, you probably don't sell your personal cars on a daily basis. So my expectations have been adjusted.

I will remove this post if you can tell me how. No worries on my end. Thanks for your help.

As for the pricing...That is what I have set it looking at other similar wagons that have sold. Very few of them. Your opinion is yours and if the price is too high, the market will let me know. That is how it works. E55 Sedans were sold in the thousands in the US and plenty of them out there. E55 wagons...Less than 200, and less than 70 2006 E55 wagons. Niche market....Premium...and very few buyers.

I personally would really like to own a few more AMGs from the 2005-2006 era. Stockpiling a little collection of old AMGs wouldn't be a bad idea.
The Flickr photos are working now. Nice car!

I saw pics of your beautiful E55 wagon. I love wagons, currently driving 2005 E500 wagon and 2001 E320 wagon ... both silver like yours. I wish I had to $32k for it. Good luck.

Question
I don't mean to Hijack this thread, but I'm curious to what year did they make the AMG wagon? I may be interested in one. Also- they are all 4matic correct?
FYI- your's is beautiful.

I just wanted to call out the details to user davidgrislis who is new and anyone else who are interested in AMG wagons in general.

I bought this car in December 2016 via Bring A Trailer, and it is in very nice shape. We flew to Austin and drove it home to Boulder; got 24 mpg. Found a used set of stock wheels ($500, not pristine) and put Nokian Hakkepellitta snow tires on them. Only snag was that the rear of the car would sink after two days, so I had Mark at Stu Ritter's shop in Denver install a pair of Arnott rear air bags. Car now has 84,000 miles behind it and looks nearly new. Have used Stu's shop for years to look after a '59 220SE, a '71 300SEL 6.3, and a '95 E320 wagon; if you want to contact them, call 303/698-2431. Ali was great to deal with, and I'd certainly do it all over again. Thanks, Ali!
Does anyone have an E55 wagon owner's manual available? Not the whole package, just the driver's manual, which differs from that of the sedan. Has anyone installed a space-saver spare tire/wheel in a wagon? If so, what size?
Thanks.

The 3rd row seat must be sacrificed to carry a spare. First, remove the bottom cushion of the seat from the rearmost folding panel. It just pries upward and off. Then remove the footrest via the 3 torx bolts at the front of the storage compartment. You have then opened up a space sufficient to store the spare. See attached photo. I stored the air pump and fix-a-flat in the well of the spare. The little pieces of wood are shims to level the front folding panel when in the closed position. For reasons I don't recall, it sat a bit below floor level after the modification - it's been several years.
The compact inflatable spare Mercedes supplied with the AMG cars won't fit under the 3rd row seat - it was delivered only on wagons without the optional jump seat. Other temporary use Mercedes spares are on 17" wheels and won't clear the front brake calipers.
Hope this helps, best of luck.
