E63 headlights on E55 questions.
hi,


trying to complete my facelift on the 55.


im wondering if oem 63 headlights are plug and play on the 55? or any cheaper way at all ? for example buy ebay facelift lights and swap in the insert?




anyone done this ? please share with me.




BTW STILL LOOKING FOR 040 black FL trunk finisherrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

i had e55 hid and went to e63 halogen, very different plugs... we used factory diagrams and oem plugs, works like a champ...

I've read on here that folks have good experiences with depo brand headlights on eBay.

Make sure it's the same as you r replacing tho ( hid for hid, halogen for halogen)

depo or eagle brand are decent but they have horrible projectors ... Im looking for oem e63 or swap out the guts of depo onto the oem e55s..

i know people take apart certain headlights by warming them in an oven... what if you pulled the lens off the e63 housing and installed it on the stock housing... then you could buy cheap halogen lights because all you want is the lens... not sure if these lights would come apart like that...

The depo 63 guts will swap over. Not a perfect fit but it's pretty close as long as you are careful and take your time.

You can even buy the chrome slats on eBay and open up the e55 headlights and glue them in...I've done a few sets like that for friends before OR get depo ones and retro out the projectors... I've done quite a few and its easy.

The plugs are different on 07+ e class. So they will not plug in. You will need to cut the wires of your harness cut some 07+ headlight plugs and match the wires for a plug in swap.
