ECU Won't Rest to Allow Emissions Test
I have a 2009 E63--no mods--or so I was told. The emissions test (NJ) keeps coming up "not ready" for the catalytic converter and oxygen sensors. I've been to 3 shops including dealer, each of whom tell me I need to drive more miles to have ECU reset--now over 1,000 miles.
I purchased the car CPO from dealer. After several tries to fix, dealer claims the c.c. is not OEM, software may have been altered and they can't fix the problem. Unless Santa Claus crawled under my car on my driveway, any modifications were on car when I purchased car from dealer.
Only suggestion dealer has is replace the ECU and exhaust for $15K! Clearly not even an option worth considering.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

You have a tune that turned off rear o2s

This is interesting. So if one does a primary cat delete (necessary for all but shorty headers), this will be a problem for all obd inspections? I always thought that the point of turning the rear O2 sensors off was to keep this from being a problem.
