E55 AMG belt drive? Pulleys?

Start to hear a squeel from one of the idler pulleys and was thinking about making a total swap of both belts and all the pulleys. However, i can´t seem to find a total chart of what to buy. Do i need the tensioners as well? What pulleys do i need?

Saw that ASP has a 5-piece pulley kit but i´ve been reading about all the problems people are having with these so i was thinking about going OEM?

My car is stock. Anybody done a complete service of the belt drive?

Swap belts with OEM and purchase the 5 piece pulley set from ASP. The OEM units are plastic, the ASP's are billet and are serviceable. No known issues with the ASP idler pulleys. I run them on mine and love them. They look cool as well

Is this apliccable on the M113K as well? In that chart i can see two pulleys that might need changing, the guide pulley and the tensioner pulley?

Are you sure? I´ve been reading about some quality issues on the ASP here on the forum?

Agreed. I haven't seen any negative reviews about the idler pulleys. Do you have any links to where you have been reading the negatives?

The negative reviews are on the supercharger pulley and crank pulley that produce more horsepower. These are a direct replacement for the OEM accessory pulleys (drive belt tensioner, double idler pulley and the supercharger tensioner).

Yes, the M113K uses the same type of pulley/tensioner. The ASP pulley will slip over the tensioner pulley shaft the same way.

I've noticed some guys using the green Gates belts... Is this possible while retaining the OEM size pulleys? I'm getting a squeal and some chatter up front now in the cold. Figured serpentine and S/C belt could use a replacement.

Thoughts?

add HD to any gates belt part number to see if it is available in green (which is a heavy duty version)

Yeah, but what is the difference? Aren´t the bearings the same?

I also have this issue. I'd like to see what fixes it. That squeak until the car warms up is annoying.

I have Nachi 6303ZZ and in my ASP idler set. They are the higher speed rate.

The ZZ bearings are rated at 17,000RPM whereas the stock bearings are rated at 12,000RPM (IIRC).

Thanks 2000UZJ for your contribution to my little thread.

The question is why the supercharger pulleys have been faulty? Higher rpm? There is also a pulley for the supercharger belt tensioner in the 5-piece kit from ASP. Wouldn´t this be subject to the same rpm as the supercharger pulleys?

The belts will spin the same speed as the crank pulley, so no RPM difference with a smaller SC pulley. The smaller SC pulley spins the SC rotors inside faster, thus producing more boost. The failures of the SC pulley are a result of the springs not being able to stay together after multiple engagements. There is something to be said about OEM AMG parts ............superior!

Can the stock pulley be turned down in diameter at all? Does anyone do this?

I don't see why not. I would like to see if you could slip a 77MM pulley on the stock unit.
