I followed instructions I found online to change my startup screen to say "AMG". It worked! But I couldn't control my curiosity, I went back into the secret menu and selected the "developer" option to see what else I could mess with.
Well, now the radio works (it outputs sound, and the buttons all still do what they are supposed to do, you can still control volume, change the radio station, change to AUX/CD etc...) but the screen looks like this on start up, then goes blank. Can anyone tell me how to get the Command back to normal?
I changed to "developer" mode. I tried using the same key sequence to re-access that menu, but now the menu won't show up. Haven't tried a hard reset yet, but I did try pulling fuses 6 and 28 for a few hours, and no luck.
I have never done a hard reset on a 211, is it true that you have to recalibrate the hall effect sensors for seats, windows, mirrors, sunroof, etc... after doing the hard reset?
Thanks for the recommendation. I just tried it, and nothing happened. I assume you are talking about the ON/PWR button on the Command unit itself? Does the car have to be in any particular key mode such as position I or II?
