'08-'09 E63 auction prices

Hello again everyone - member since '09 but my last login has locked me out (COM_AMG).

So I'm looking at '08-'09 E63s and prices seem to be all over the place.

Here's a car I'm looking at, and it is NOT CPO (per the dealer) as auction claims...

http://m.ebay.com/itm/371245414562?nav=SEARCH
Would someone mind running the recent auction sales figs for me and updating here? I'm finding prices in the $33-$39k range, non certified,, wide variety of milage and options. Seems like many sellers have an over-inflated sense of worth for some of these cars... Info is appreciated.

No kidding!

Are you sure you aren't seeing listings for newer E63s (2010+).....? That might explain it.

Post a few links to the ads you found, I'm sure the guys here will be happy to pick them apart mercilessly!!!

Hi guys, I agree those are high prices, which is why I asked if anyone could access the Manheim auction figures.

Also, lol yes I know what M.Y. I'm looking at, I've owned MBZ before, and I'm a car guy. Been here since '09.

Anyhow, specific numbers are appreciated.

Thanks peeps.

Here is a CPO car I'm looking at. Strange carfax but low miles and MB certified...pricing seems high but it is certified.

I will agree with you, that is the ideal W211 E63. But that price is almost absurd. I paid $29k for mine and it's an 08, same color, with 44k miles, and has lived it's whole life in Cali and Oregon.

Also, even low mileage cars may have the M156's characteristic cam and head bolt issues. So budget a few thousand for the updated valve buckets and cams.

Yes exactly -- though after speaking with the seller/dealer he kept saying it was an executive car at several dealerships.

<The fact that it's CPO eases my mind> b/c of the 1yr warranty and all of the new tires/brakes and service performed on the car.

EDIT: It's NOT a CPO car, technically--it went through the certification process but is 2mo too old to qualify...so it does not include the 1yr warranty w/unlimited mileage.

Any other thoughts? I'm all ears -- and anyone with Manheim numbers please?

In Nov 14 I purchased a 72k miles 08 E63 that was in nice condition for 26k. That was at cost. Retail should have been around 30k. For the one you are looking at, being 33k miles it should be like new. If they put NEW ROTORS on the front and new PSS's maintenance wise you should be good. Interesting someone de-badged it. Thats pretty rare but speak to what kind of person owned somewhere along the line. But we all drive them hard on here and they are in perfect shape too, so I say get them down to 34k or so and run with it. MH I don't know, but I bet its around low 30's. They likely have a 4-6k profit in their figures. Just being a AMG and a 09. Those were brought in in really low numbers.

cars.com Price seems a bit on the high side. 35k or so seems fair. there is a Black one on here with 41k for 34k. Look there and then see what the dealer might do. They will drop the price a tad for sure, but how much is the question.

Yes NGT2 on '09s is a positive for that MY.

Not understanding what you're asking -- whether the dealer could swap it out w/out me knowing? Or whether I would want to do that...?

Sherrif - thank you for the input & I agree w/your thoughts. I found another CPO, 22k mi, '09 w/P30, super clean. $40k

Why would you want to do that? NTG2.5 is supposed to be better than NTG1.0, about the only drawback is requiring an OEM navigation CD, but I seem to recall reading that once you get an OEM disk, it gets loaded on the local HD and then you can sell the DVD if you want.
