If your car (e55) was really modded, you would destroy the c63, but your car is almost stock (exhaust + tune does not do that much)...I suspect the c63 will win.

Add headers, a pulley, and an IC tank, a wideband , and a new tune and you'll have some real fun.

Aren't C63 cars with headers + tune capable of 123-125+mph? Granted, the OP's not racing a headers + tune C63, but just wondering. I've read owners gain damn near 100rwhp with headers and tune on those things.

OP-
I think it'll be close depending on the mph. If you guys do it from a 40mph, it'll be very close as you don't anything (power) other than a tune.

If you go from a 60mph or faster roll, I will give the nod to the C63 as they pull very well up top- not that much, but I think he'll win up top. The top end on the C63s are great, better than the E55, in my opinion (given the mods).

I was behind a C63 507 on the freeway. He took off first out of traffic and I followed. I couldn't catch him, but he couldn't pull either. 50-130

Quote: I raced a p31 c63, which has a factory lsd. 1st race was close, but thereafter c63 fares much better, due to the e55 intake temps being too high. Need better cooling to do consecutive runs.

Is your car stock? The way the 63 was pulling on you is a lot more than it should be imo.. I loved killing them when I had my 09 CTSV lol.. Always ran into a black one around town that always bothered me until I destroyed him. He asked me to pull over and asked what I had. He had a tune, headers and an intake fwiw.. I'll be jumping into a E55 soon (Moosejaw) so maybe a 50 shot should make running a 63 fun

Quote: I still don't consider that an actual race, just messing around lol- I was in sport mode with traction off. if I was really *racing* I would have been in manual with sport traction. Plus my tires were/are bald
That's what they all say when they lose

I personally think it'll be a good race. I think I'll get the jump if we start from 40 or a dig. E55's have much better low end power, and even though I have more horsepower and torque, I feel the C63 will start pulling ahead around 80-100mph. The gearing is significantly better on the 63's vs the 55's.

Cant do consecutive runs on stock E55.Too hot and you will lose as much as 40 hp.

Best thing I've found is make a hard run, then drive at highway speeds for 10-15 mins cool down and do another blast. Parking it just boils that fluid and your supercharger becomes a giant heat sink.

I know from experience that the W211 E63 isn't a problem to take down. Haven't had the pleasure of running with a C63 just yet, though I know a friend of a friend with a 507 I wouldn't mind getting a crack at.

I of course voted for the E55.

I voted for the C63 over on the other one. I think that the 63 will take it because the 55 isn't really "tuned". Yeah, it has a tune, but without a pulley & headers, it really doesn't amount to much.

The tune alone on a C63 brings that beast to life. The transmission (and driver) will win (or lose) it for the C63.

I still miss my E55, so I'm rooting for it; I just don't think it will happen.

and the stock intercooler pump. I feel like my c63 has more power at higher rpms so even though I'm expecting the e55 to get the jump I'm expecting the c63 to pull hard and take it by half a cars distance.

While I do agree that a pulley and headers make a significant difference in power, the car is still tuned. A lot of variables come into play. Guess we'll just see how it goes.

Hahah we're good friends, just rustling his jimmies.

Should be a close race. I know I'll take him until 120ish. After that I'm not too sure.
