Lost power, CPS ??
Hi guys, I was driving like 10 minutes then after a red light, my car just completely lost power and no matter how hard I step it, just hit 2000 rpm. barely go more than 2K rpm. The car is so slow but eventually went up to 60mph like in 12 sec. I turn off the engine and restart and it's fine again.
Is it CPS ?? I have own the car for 6 years never changed it. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

No, that does not sound like a CPS issue....Based upon the fact that when you restart the car (which you would have trouble doing if it were CPS related) everything is fine again, tells me your car was going into LIMP mode. You'll need to pull codes....

In previous cars od the daimler brands, it was called "Safety fuel shutoff" with a RPM limitation to around 1800-2500RPM (depending on engine, type etc.). It triggers whenever there is a issue with the electronic throttle actuators (false positions returned to ECU, etc etc).
So yes go and get codes pulled. CEL light on?

This just happened again this morning... No check engine light. I guess the car just went to limp mode. So if no check engine light, will I still able to scan codes ?

Yes you can and should still scan codes.
Also there certain things with STAR Diagnosis to test for. The Software has the test routines for sensors and stuff.

Got the code P2203 and need to change tranny conductor plate. Hope this will fix the problem. Is this common thing to fail ? I will do the tranny service in the same time since need to drain the tranny fluid. My guy quoted $240 + labor = $300 for conductor plate.

Yep...thats why I threw a conductor plate,wire connector for tcu harness and CPS just for the hell of it and carry in the glove box a SBC reset tool for when that go's to LOL. Cheap insurance for the future.

I actually paid $700 total....
$100 oil change
$300 part and labor for Conductor plate
$300 Tranny service (gasket and fluid)
I think the conductor plate and tranny service shouldn't be more than $500 since removing those part together...
