Tune up.
My car is 10 years old this year with 87k, never had a tune up done. At what point does one do a tune up for the car? Any sign to watch for that will prompt one for the tune up? Thanks.

Traditionally, a tune up meant cleaning and adjusting points, plugs, and carbs.

With modern vehicles, there is no such thing as a tune up anymore. Unless the vehicle is driven under extreme conditions, just stick to the regular maintenance intervals.

Have you replaced the plugs/ wires yet? If not, I would recommend doing that along with all of the other fluids that haven't been changed in a while or ever

No. Never changed plugs/wires. I was thinking so to do that, but wasn't sure what to do for a 10 years old car.

EVERY fluid and filter needs changed. spark plugs, belts, fuel pumps and filter. IC pump may also need replaced.

It's not a Recall. It's a warranty extension. Yes they are covered for free if there is a sign of fuel leakage.

Plugs are 5 year /100k. At this age may as well due wires also. As said all fluids need change, brake fluid every 2 years , coolant 10 years, trans 60k , diff 60k. I like to do all fluids every year. Brake fluid is the most neglected from what I see, then trans. Of course fuel filter, pump if you have mods......
