Is there any way to tell if car as a high stall converter?
The reason I ask is I had a rebuilt trans and converter installed. Both were supplied by my warranty company.
After the install, I noticed that the trans seems to slip in part throttle. If I give the car half throttle, the rpms will hover around 2800-3000 while accelerating - it feels like a CVT.
There is no slip at full throttle.
Sometimes I also notice that the RPMs will climb a couple hundred between shifts while cruising.
Is there any way for me to find out if I got a higher stall converter for sure?
