Removing the limiter

Has anyone here had any first hand experience with getting the speed limiter removed on their E55? I'm thinking in terms of the costs involved and any issues that they faced.

Is there no-one here that has had the 155mph limited speed chip modified? Is it only something that can be done back in the factory at AMG Germany?

Talk to Powerchip, renntech or any of the other reputable suppliers of ECU upgrades. Cost varies from roughly $1000 to $3000, depending on the company.

If you can't ship to AMG, then your only other alternative is Brabus.

Renntech ECU does remove it.
How fast will it go?I have no idea,US cars speedo reads up to 160mph only.I knew ,I was over the 155 because I did not hit the limiter and the speed was freaky scary.(on the same stretch of road went 175 in a 996tt and it was definitely not that fast!)
