Looking at 05 E55 - advice?
Been reading on the forums a little bit, need some advice/confirmation of a few things:
05 Capri Blue E55
115K miles
Alternator replaced
"Transmission serviced"
About $13K USD
My plans would be modest maybe EC Stage 1
Big items:
SBC $1,200 installed?
Airmatic $2,000 parts (Arnott)
Are there any other major cost issues?
Looking for comments & advice - want to know where the big maintenance hitters lie.
Other options (not comparable) are 2002 540i M sport or 2007-2008 335i

Given the exchange rate between CAD & the USD it is lower. A little over a year ago when we were about par car would have been $16k USD, now $13K equivalent.
Will get PPI
Also reading up on some fuel leak/sender issues - is there a permanent fix & what's the cost of replacement?

FYI My mates E55 needed its alternator replaced but the root cause of it failing was found to be the fuel pump leak was shorting out the plug drawing excess current, so dont overlook the fuel assembly, US guys are all covered by this by MB so apparently no cost for replacement
