Would be better to run them in series.

Others have done it. If you search the web you can find numbers for using two Bosch 010 pumps in series. It's an improvement, but unless you can get another pump for cheap it's probably better to upgrade to a Pierburg pump.

i am looking for someone who has tried 2 pumps in parallel not in series, i know there is a lot info and graphs to install them series, need to see if there is any improvement in parallel vs in series, we have learned that 2 pumps in parallel flow more but in series the pressure will be higher.

Nobody has done parallel, because the inter cooler has very high resistance, so high pressure output is the goal. That's the reason the Johnson pump is actually worse than the Bosch 010 pump, even though the Johnson pump pushes more volume (but only when there's no resistance).

Also parallel would suffer if one pump is more worn out than another, because then the stronger pump will be creating pressure pushing against the output of the weaker pump.

On the "series" side ...

Has anyone tried a push--pull config?

ie: one before the cooler/one after? I have 2 new pumps and was going to try it.

Would probably work well like that.
