Went to the track...

I'll post up the slip soon. All in all not a bad experience. My very first time on the track anywhere. I went to palmdale and my best run was a 13.1 at 110. Not bad for a first timer. But I know this time can be improved greatly. I had brake torqued and launched at about 1500K RPM. Even then I only had the gas at about a quarter and I was still spinning. I hit about 20-25 and then went full throttle. I had some people come up to me and ask what I was running. They were pretty dayam amazed for a "Mercedes sedan" and it being an automatic. I went with a couple other buddies of mine and had a really good time. I had a lot of fun and this was a totally new learning experience for me. I really do understand now that this car really is a beast. Driving this car at the track and on the street is just very different IMHO...anyways cheers everyone...

I read on Road and Track that you should leave ESP on and let it do its job. They got their best times with ESP on, as opposed to lots and lots of wheel spin with it off. Still, those are good times for a non modified production car, let alone a 4 door luxury sedan!

I'm assuming you raced on your stock 18s? If you want to improve traction either live the ESP on, or get yourself a set of 18" drag radials for the track... if you daily drive on the 20s.

Oh no the 20's are sittin at home and have been since SEMA...I have been rollin on the stock 18's. And to answer the ESP question...ESP was on every time I ran down the track. I guess I have to go more and jus practice...DR's would help greatly...

What is GPS? fer some reason nothing is clicking....You also have to remember that up at palmdale you have to add another .4-.7 seconds to your time...

just curious - why do you have to add time to a run at Palmdale??

you don't add times...it's more like you subtract what you got at palmdale by bout .4-.6 seconds due to the elevation....If I'm correct the elevation over there is 2700ft.

Must be because that is very slow for a W210 E55. My best at Sonoma prior to the chip was 13.53. I think Poholin is down to 13.13 with just thermal wrapping his intake.

Who ever said to subtract is correct. at LACR in palmdale you subtract about .5 seconds to your time because of the elevation. and the place is basicly a desert. when i went there the cobra guys has like 10 bags of ice chilling on their engines to cool it down before they ran. I was wondering if that you help out the supercharged engines at all? but yeah benzboi you basicly ran a 12.6 good job.

Yeah, ice helps a lot on the intake and intercooler between runs

Cannons car is a W210 with a W211 supercharger, ecu, pistons etc added by Renntech. At least two US mags posted better than 12.4 with standard cars. My car with 285's on 19's DEFINATELY hooks up better than with the standard 265's on 18's.
Am I misunderstanding your point?
