Another Problem.

On my way to the store, driving the car, stopped at the traffic light. I heard a funny sound as if something pop off. Light turns green, stepped on the gas there's basically 0 boost. Supercharger not engaging, pulled up at the side of the road, open the hood, then I was shocked to see these. The pulley is not even 3 days old. I have to tow the car back home. I think I'm done with C/P. How can the outer ring fall off. And these supposed to be the best pulley?

Thanks for the assurance. Will be going back to stock crank, and just upgrade the s/c pulley. Do they have 80 mm clutched pulley?

The if the ring was detached from the point where it was welded or pinned ASP would help, but in OP case the rubber portion failed.

That is why I in longer use used OEM pulleys to make bigger ones. Only time we will work with a used one if the customer supplies it and is 100% aware it can delaminate

PM me with what size SC pulley you need I will give you a discount to offset your loss

I was really skeptical about doing c/p in the first place. Now with these, I will just stick with s/c pulley. I bought that pulley brand new as well. Just trying to achieve btw. 480 - 500whp, and I hope I will be able to do that with the s/c pulley.

You can inspect the rubber portion of the pulley to check
For visual cracks.

As Hulk said they are safe but there will be some that will fail

Damn, that sucks but glad to see the main pulley held intact. Looks like 77mm clutched pulley is the way to go and pair that with a scatter shield for added safety.
PM me if you need a stock CP. I have a couple with <10k miles each.

2004 W211 E55 AMG >>gone but not forgotten > W123 280E > W124 E280 > W126 380SE
This happened to my stock crank pulley back when I was running a smaller sc pulley. It gave me the chance to upgrade to a 180mm crank pulley although I went back to a stock sc pulley at the time. No worries since and I was happy with the improvement in boost, power and torque.
