E55 on Weld RTS s71 - my new street/strip setup
I've been patiently waiting for this set of wheels to be built for my new street/strip setup. I've always been frustrated by the fact that I can't really run wider than a 255/50/16 on the clk wheels and no one but forgestar made a 17inch wheel option for us. So I ordered up a set of 5x4.5 weld RTS s71 with the intention of machining them to make them work.
I'm pretty pleased with the results. Will get a better photoset next week.
Specs:
17x10.5 rear +45 shaved by a few 'm to pull wheel in
18x8 front
Hubcentric rings
Steel lug hole inserts to 5x112
Tires:
Hoosier drag radial 315/35/17
Hankook v12 235/40/18

Don't like the idea of wobble bolts on a strip setup. Here is a pic of Chris sir boost a lot's wheel. We did the same thing to mine steel inserts instead of welding and drilling :

That may be the sweetest setup I've seen yet for these cars. Nice job!
Can't wait to see what kind of 60' times you can rip with those!

And my local wheel shop (california wheels in San Jose) did the machine work.

Glad I waited because I'm really happy with the look and fit and believe it or not the ride quality is awesome now that I'm not on 19s or 20s.
