Loud wining noise at 115-130mph
The last few times I did a few fast pulls on the highway I hear a very loud whining noise that instantly comes on at about 115+ mph. I tested it multiple times and it instantly start somewhere between 115-130 mph. I cant pinpoint it, Thinking a driveshaft bearing maybe? Does that make any sense? Sounds like its coming from underneath the car not the motor area.
Any guesses on where to look? I have a 2005 E55 with 111k on it
Thanks!

Take video that would help, I'm sure the experts can chime in.
Have you taken a look underneath first?

I actually do have a video on my girlfriends cell phone. I will get it from her and post it up tomorrow. I haven't looked under the car yet.

Get under there, use a lift if you can and check everything that rotates. Any leaks? Check fluid levels on tranny and differential.

I really do not know what the problem is??? If you do not want a WINNING noise/cheer at 115mph, maybe you should have bought a Honda Civic

So I have a sound clip on my email, on the clip it sound like more of a loud humming noise. How the heck do I get it posted up on the site? Anyone got an email address I can send you this sound clip from that could perhaps post it for me? Ill admit its not to great of a clip and perhaps ill try and go out and record a better clip this week. Thanks for everyones feed back so far.

I have the same issue on mine. I have never figured it out as all seems fine and I don't hit those speeds often. Assume it's air passing over something.

If we are talking about the same humming noise at high speeds. It's probably one of the seals, could be sunroof, or one of the window seals or door seals. It's probably air pushing through at that certain speed. When you go slower or faster the air travels differently and doesn't have so much pressure in that particular spot.
