E55 DRL

I need some help with this. I have been searching the forums and using Google to search other forums and so far, I have come up empty.
Is there a way to wire the fog lights on the '06 E55 to be on when the car is on (ignition)? Since I live in the Phoenix AZ area we hardly ever see fog and using the headlight switch every time is a pain. I would like to throw some canbus LED bulbs in there and use them as DRLs.
I have searched and found people that have had similar questions but the only answer they get is "Use the search".

Any help would be awesome

BTW, I don't plan on changing to the E63 bumper so I can run the Wald LED DRLs

You can change the settings in the IC to run the low beams as a DRL/Constant Beam.

I don't want to run the HIDs all the time. Even if I did, how would I change it? Do I have to have the dealer do it?

HID's consume less power, more efficient and a longer bulb life that halogen fog lights...they are cheaper, safer, brighter and don't tax the electricals as much...your pick

You can change the setting through the steering wheel controls in the settings menu on the instrument cluster (IC)

Can you elaborate a little? I am not used to a canbus equipped vehicle and have only owned this car since January.

You can turn off all the lights if in that menu using the buttons on the steering wheel. I am trying to get LEDs to work in the fog lights without anything else on

You would proudly have to go the relay route. But then you would proudlylly a bulb out warning. You may be able to turn them completely off through star then just wire in with a relay and choose a power source that turns on with the ignition.

This reminds me that I was going to look in DAS to see what the lighting options were. Since they can be set as cornering lamps, I wonder if they can both be turned on with ignition in DAS.
Maybe I'll have a look tonight.

Edit: looked, and could not find any option regarding fog lights, except for the cornering aid.
